Strictly Come Dancing: Claire King and Brendan Cole are out!

Claire King and Brendan Cole have been voted out after being one of the bottom two couples with Carol Smillie and Matthew Cutler. They have entertained us all with their wayward ways, raunchy dancing, Brendan’s fights with the judges and surprises each week. Actress Claire, an arthritis sufferer, has impressed us all with her cheeky cheerfulness and will be sorely missed.

The dancing has reached a very high standard with a nice variety of dances, gorgeous costumes, excellent progress, brilliant floor shows and good music. The competitiveness has reach boiling point with many contestants putting in longer hours of practice than ever before. It is going to be a real tough competition with the remaining five couple.

Mark Ramprakash and Karen Hardy impressed the judges the most, with their beautiful Viennese Waltz, floating romantically around the floor, fantastic choreography and intricate steps. Mark was told he danced with great Panache! After being told they were beautiful, fantastic, wonderful, very professional and charming they were rewarded with the highest points of the evening, 36 out of 40

In tie position with Emma Bunton and Darren Bennett, we have Louisa Lytton and Vincent Simone dancing the Paso Diablo. The judge’s comments were passionate, fearless dancing, excellent timing and full of drama. with Louisa dancing like a professional in only eight weeks. Brilliant choreography with a great variety of exhilarating steps, well executed spins and drops. She was called a feisty cracker. 34.

Emma and Darren also earned 34 points and were told that their dancing had much improved and Emma was back amongst the top dancers. Emma’s regaining of her balance after spins was excellent but she must watch her spine. They danced the American Smooth, in the judge’s words ‘with the wow factor’, splendid lifts (stunning) and exciting to watch. Emma’s arm movements are extremely graceful.

Carol Smillie and Matthew Cutler received a thirty from the judges for their Viennese Waltz which the judges said, although very beautiful, graceful and romantic, was ordinary with Carol dancing with her head not her heart. Loved the reverse spin.

Matt Dawson and Lilia Kopylova’s jive was described as being like a warm, bubbly Jacuzzi, pronounced flicks and a job well done. Tremendous footwork but needs to be lighter on feet with more extensions. Great improvement all round. 28 out of 30

The judges liked Claire and Brendan’s samba but one judge described it as a dance after the night before. The other judges found it entertaining and said Claire was a very likable person and always made them laugh. All four judges felt that they should be the couple to go this week. They received 25 points.

The group dancing with all six couples participating found Louisa getting the highest compliments from the judges, being told she was as good as the professionals and hard to tell them apart. ‘Girls Aloud’ sang their new single and ‘danced’ with the male professionals

Next week we will see the remaining five couples dance it out to win. What surprises have they in store for us?

I’m A Celebrity Bushtucker Trail: Celebrities Take A Plunge!

Dean Gaffney - I'm A CelebrityA trio of celebs quite literally took the plunge in today’s Bushtucker Trial to win food and treats for the camp…and for one camper it would be a particularly hair raising experience.

Dean Gaffney, Lauren Booth and Phina Oruche discovered that to win a possible 12 stars they would have to bungee from a height of 100ft throwing paint bombs at targets on the ground below them.

A bold Phina was first to leap off Jungle Falls. As the countdown from five began Phina wasted no time in jumping off the platform into thin air. She performed a perfect swallow dive scoring a bullseye into the bargain and the first pair of meal tickets.

A decidedly less-than-bold Dean was next up: “I’ve got butterflies in my stomach, I’m really scared but I have got to do it.”

Toes teetering on the edge 100ft up a panicky Dean squealed: “I feel dizzy. Look how high up we are. My hands are shaking.”

He stepped into space and no-one was more surprised than he was when he scored a direct hit and landed another two meals for camp.

As Lauren was strapped into her safety harness she assured the safety team: “We are hard core, we bungee from helicopters.”

She made it a hat-trick of hits when she also managed to splatter the star on the ground despite letting go of the paint bomb very early on.

“We’re going for all 12,” she cried. “It’s going to be the biggest night in camp.”

But her optimism was short lived. Returning to the platform straight away for her second attempt she missed the target by inches. Dean went again as Phina muttered: “He is going to do this or I will kick his head in.”

Her encouragement fell on deaf ears though and despite Dean taking a leaf out of the book of former I’m A Celeb trial expert John Fashanu as he urged himself to ‘Focus’, the ex-EastEnder also fell short with his second bomb.

Phina, who was next up, seemed supremely confident. “I don’t mind bringing home the bacon,” she declared striding towards the platform. But she couldn’t emulate the success of her first attempt, dropping the paint balloon as she leapt from the crane. The camp would get six meals for dinner.

For a shaky Lauren the experience had been too much: “You quite literally nearly frightened me to death. I actually passed out, I blacked out for a second. I shocked myself and have taken a little bit of time getting the equilibrium going.”

Back in camp Lauren retold the tale: “What a morning. Seriously, [Medic] Bob had to take me to one side and give me medical attention. That was the worst [trial]. It was like falling out of a building. I went over the edge and did not remember what happened until I was bouncing. There were spots exploding before my eyes.”

I’m A Celebrity: Phina Oruche and Faith Brown Find David Gest “Strange Looking!”

David Gest: I'm A CelebrityFaith and Phina focused on David’s appearance during a chat in the treehouse.

“He is a strange looking man isn’t he?” Phina questioned Faith. “The texture of his face is bizarre. Do you think he has had peels?”

“I don’t know. It’s hard to say,” Faith mused. “I have never seen anybody like that before. I think to me it looks like it [treatment] has gone wrong.”

“And then the hair…” Phina continued.

“It has been sewn in,” Faith suggested.

“But there’s none in the middle,” Phina laughed.

“Maybe he wants it to look natural,” Faith offered. “It’s so unnatural isn’t it?!”

“LA is filled to the gills [with people] like him,” Phina said.

“They have to be beautiful in LA,” Faith agreed.

“The thing is if you don’t admit to where you are the jet black hair doesn’t help him,” Phina thoughtfully added.

When asked by Faith why he went for the ‘jet black’ look Phina decided: “Because it’s a fantasy world. Look what Michael Jackson looks like.”

I’m A Celebrity: Matt Willis Will Marry Girlfriend!

Matt Willis: I'm A CelebrityMatt Willis revealed to Faith and Lauren that he will wed girlfriend Emma Griffiths … when the time is right.

“We have both thought about getting married, he said. But when the time is right I will pop the question. She was working as an MTV presenter, she sought me out, I was like f***ing awesome! The fit bird from MTV has sought me out.”

I’m A Celebrity: Phina Oruche Starts A Bed War!

Phina Oruche: I'm A CelebrityDavid Gest confronted Phina Oruche today about the bed situation, asking her to give Jan her bed in the tree house back.

Lauren said: “We decided earlier that Jan and Faith should have the tree house as they are older women . Phina got tired the other day and asked if she could go up there for one night, now she wants two nights.”

Lauren said to Faith and Jan: “It’s not fair – we need to talk to her. She is young and well.”

“But I don’t want to say anything,” Jan told the girls, worried about a confrontation with Phina.

Faith had a chat with David, today’s leader, telling him “Phina is taking over,” and he promptly called Phina over to discuss Bedgate.

“Can I talk to you for a minute? Jan needs to sleep on that bed.” David said.

But Phina cut in : “I need to sleep in that bed because I just pulled my neck doing the bungee jump…to get tonight’s dinner. So not tonight but maybe tomorrow. I am not being a bitch, I swear. I am just being honest.”

Later Phina asked Jan if she had a problem but Jan chose not to speak up.

“You would tell me wouldn’t you?” Phina said.

“Of course, I am quite an outspoken person.” Jan retorted.

X Factor Chart: 25th November 2006

On tonight’s X Factor show I believe that there were three clear winners.

Both Ben Mills and Leona Lewis performed brilliantly and I loved the contrast between their two songs.

The MacDonald Brothers started off on shaky ground with a rather boring performance of ‘When You Say Nothing At All’ but their second song was excellent. The boys attempt to sing ‘I’m Gonna Be (500Miles)’ should have been awful but it was actually rather fantastic. The looked confident for the first time and even won over Simon Cowell….maybe they can win! I certainly don’t think they will be leaving tonight.

Eton Road were disappointing tonight and I thought their song choices were poor. I liked their first song, the harmonies were strong and it was really fun, but their performance of ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ was a bit boring to be honest. These boys are quirky and individual, Louis should really put more effort into their song choices. i also didn’t think they were just as polished as some of the other acts.

Ray Quinn gave his best vocal performance of the series during his first son ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ and then ruined it by singing Jailhouse Rock. It was predictable and was the kind of thing that ray had done a million times before. i think Ray should stick to showcasin his vocal talent instaed of spinning around the stage.

So here we go, my official X FACTOR CHART! Follow the links on each name for more info on their individual performances and judges comments

I’m A Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here! Good Bye Scott 241106

With a candle burning for the departed Toby Anstis, we now have had to say goodbye to the brilliant fashion designer, Scott Henshall who has been dressing the famous since a very early age. In the jungle he swung from coward to hero, as he tackled the many horrific trials the public chose him to endure.

Jan Lemmings son has said that although very proud of his mother’s courage shown during the numerous trials she was voted to suffer, he was mortified at her strip tease, in her yellow suit, (calling it cringe-worthy). I thought she looked great for a woman of 64. Poor Jan is always being knocked. Is it because she was continuously pulling others down? We have seen a changed Jan of late.

The celebrities had to choose three contestants for the Thunderball trial. Two men and one woman was their choice, saying that the men had more chance of bringing home the stars/meals and they were all starving. Malanda Burrows , Matt Willis and Jason Donovan were their choice. Matt had to slither into a giant transparent ball, with Ant and Dec adding a bucket of tea and coffee. His two mates had to give the ball a massive push, targeting the stars, to get it rolling down the hill in an attempt to hit one of the coloured stars propped up at the end of the run, which had various values in meals. The black star meant losing a meal. Jason had a bucket of baked beans added to the coffee, when it was his turn and Malandra had the coffee, baked beans and a bucket of tomatoes, for company as she rolled around, inside the sealed ball. I wonder how much was consumed by the starving contestants as they tumbled down the hill. The only one to earn meals was Malandra, the GAL.

Come on guys have you learned nothing? Send the girls in to tackle the trials and you wont be so hungry and David will escape being at ‘deaths door’. It is a good thing that they each received an edible treat with their letters from home, obtained by teams of two and three, running in turn, against the clock, to sink a ball in a board pocket to release the chest. Tears flowed as they read the letters to each other, David’s being most impressive with all the famous name dropping. Well we do know that one for sure, is still alive, Michael Jackson. Scott’s letter declared him ‘Queen’ of the jungle, to everyone’s amusement.

Will the celebrities be taken pity on as they plead, in the telegraph room, for candy, wine, etcetera and end off with a chorus of ‘chocolate please’?

The bottom two campers, who had to be voted for by the public, a second time, Scott and Dean, resulted in Scott leaving the jungle for good, to return to his world of fashion after drinking champagne with Ant and Dec and Dean, to enjoy another day with his friends. WHO WILL GO TONIGHT????

I’m A Celebrity: Celebrities Receive Letters From Home

I'm A Celebrity: The CastSuccessfully retrieving the Chest, the celebrities were given a parcel from their loved ones as well as a letter from someone special and all were thrilled with their treats which included strawberries, Tabasco sauce, chocolate cake, biscuits…and a Pot Noodle!

The celebrities were told that each of their letters must be read out by another of the celebrities and the tears were soon flowing.

Jason got particularly emotional, bursting into tears as he was shown a photograph of his partner Angela and children, waiting for him at the Versace hotel. Matt also had a tear in his eye as he was read a heartfelt emotional letter from his girlfriend Emma.

Phina read Myleene’s letters from her parents - Magdalena and Oscar - and fiancée Graham. She burst into floods of tears as soon as Phina began reading.

The letter from her parents read: “We have been watching you all while still in the UK and have enjoyed it tremendously. The night sky is beautiful here especially the Orion display. Perhaps when you gaze up into the sky tonight you might think of the words of Miss Saigon and think of breathing in the same air as us tonight as you are so close.

Fiancee Graham sent a letter to his “Jungle Bunny telling her to “have fun, stay strong and I miss you big time. I’m even eating less in support of you.

“It was just so overwhelming because it’s like you have been institutionalised, she said. “You are so used to seeing the same greenery and faces and suddenly ‘Wham’ you get a taste of home.

Lauren read David’s letters from pals Tito Jackson and Jane Russell and he looked emotional, especially when he heard that Michael Jackson had been watching his jungle antics.

His first letter from Tito Jackson read: “Respect to you for staying in the jungle and not leaving in the first six hours. But you must have a hundred and one reasons for staying there and everyone sends their love. My kids think you are the best Uncle in the world for doing this at your age and after all you have been through in the past few years. David, how are you coping without the maid and the chef? Have you told them about Vaginika Seaman yet? Michael was watching you on TV in London recently and told me: ‘That man never changes but I wish him all the best and would love to see him win the show as he has come a long way in that jungle. Rather him than me. Ha ha ha’.

Matt looked particularly upset and had a definite tear in his eye as Faith read his letter from his girlfriend Emma.

“To my gorgeous boy, I can’t quite believe we haven’t spoken for over a week. I’ve been utterly lost not having you around and there is a whopping great hole permanently next to me that only you can fill so make sure you don’t lose too much weight mate. I’ll finish this note by saying spending this much time away from you has only confirmed for me even more that I don’t want to be without you again. I don’t work without you. You are the love of my life and I’m so proud of you for staying true to who you are and not putting on an act for the cameras. I love you with all of my heart, body and soul from my head to my toes and back. I love you Matthew. Emma xxxx.

Jan read Jason’s letters and he was already in tears before she had even begun because of the photograph that he had seen of his family at the Versace hotel where they and all the other friends and family were waiting for their loved ones to return.

“Dear Daddy, I miss you so much that I’m keeping a diary so you don’t miss anything I’ve done while you’re in the jungle. I love you so much. Gemma.

“Dear Daddy, I love you so much and I’ve lost another tooth. Love from Zac.

“J, I think the kids have said the important stuff. We all miss and love you so much. Love always, Angela.

Phina was also blubbing as Myleene read her letter from friend Frances: “Your friends and family are so proud of you and remember the big guy is looking on. The Toxteth massive are threatening to parachute food into camp. Stefano promises to spoil you like a Princess when you get out of the jungle.

David read Lauren’s letter from her husband Craig: “Everyone back home sends their love. You’re my, and the girls, Queen of the Jungle. The girls miss you loads but they are telling anyone who will listen that you are in the jungle and they have come to Oz to rescue you and you are the best mummy in the whole world. Not just waiting but aching to see you. Love you to the Mars.

Malandra read Dean’s letter from his twin girls Charlotte and Chloe which also saw him filling up: “Hi Daddy, we think you are doing really well. Keep up the good work. When you’d done the trial we thought you was going to faint. It was very funny. We are all very proud of you so be careful of the spiders and the snakes and we all love you so, so much. Much love from Chloe, Char and Mummy.

Matt read Faith’s letter from partner Len and she got so choked during the reading that she couldn’t even speak.

“It seems so long since you left. I miss you so much. You seem to be doing so well. We’d like to see more of you when you let your hair down.

Scott read Jan’s letter from friend Sue:

“Everyone I know is backing you to overcome whatever else you have to do. Keep focussed and you may even become Queen of the Jungle. But if not, you’ve proved yourself to be one amazing woman.

Jan read Scott’s letter and he was thrilled to hear from his best friend Hofit. The letter was a fitting end to all of the letters from home and the celebrities had a laugh listening to it.

“Who would have thought that my favourite pampered Princess would last in the jungle this long. I miss my partner in crime, my gossip buddy. I can see that you have settled well and adjusted to your new home. Who could have ever thought you could live with eleven strangers and now five straight men! Everyone is cheering you on and no matter what happens now Scotty, you are Queen of the Jungle.

I’m A Celebrity: David Gest Goes A Little Bit MAD!

David Gest: I'm A CelebrityAfter days of lethargically lying around camp, David suddenly found a spring in his step. Feeling mischievous, he spent the day taunting the camera men hidden in hides around the camp. He played hide and seek outside their huts, pretended lizards were singing Bonnie Tyler hits to them and at other times ran around with wild hair banging on walls to annoy them.

“I’m feeling stir crazy, he said with a glint in his eye. “My intent is to explore these mountains today like I have never explored them before. I’m in a frisky mood and yes, I’m causing trouble.

“I’m having so much fun, he later said in the Bush Telegraph.

“What else am I trying to do today – probably act like I’m 12! It’s a great feeling. Michael Jackson and I used to act like we were kids all the time.

I’m A Celebrity: Bushtucker Trial Thunderball

Jason Donovan: I'm A CelebrityThe celebrities had to decide amongst themselves which three would face the trial but it wasn’t an easy decision as some of the men’s sexist views got in the way of the selection process. With Matt and Jason picked, the camp finally decided to send Malandra Burrows as token female.

Taking it in turns, one celebrity had to climb inside a huge clear plastic ball and be pushed down a steep slope by the other two celebrities, aiming at target stars at the bottom. Different stars at the bottom were worth corresponding numbers of meals - yellow was worth one, green two meal tickets and the red star three meals, but if the celebrity hit the black target star they would lose a meal for camp.

Ant and Dec told them that they each had one attempt and then two celebrities would have a second go making five rolls in total down the slope.

“You’ll also be joined in there by some breakfast ingredients, Ant told them.

“I normally have champagne, said Malandra as a vat of tea and coffee was poured inside the ball.

Matt Willis: I'm A CelebrityJason dived inside the ball and Malandra and Matt planned their strategy to aim Jason in the right direction but he missed all the stars. “I have to say that was the weakest coffee I’ve ever had, he commented after.

Roll number two was Matt and the second ingredient was popped in, a barrel of baked beans.

Jason shoved him down the hill but he too failed to pick up stars at the bottom and was gutted as he drained his goggles of bean juice.

Malandra got ready to go with the added ingredient of tomatoes: “I get plenty of those thrown at me on stage, she said. “I’m used to it. At least they’re not in the tin! she laughed hysterically.

She jumped into the ball but got her body stuck halfway and Matt came to her rescue, pushing her inside. As she launched down the hill, the sound of the mixtures squelching inside could be clearly heard. Malandra knocked down a red target winning three meals for camp. “See it takes a girl doesn’t it, she said as she clambered out of the ball.

Next up it was two people inside the sphere and the celebrities couldn’t believe it. Jason and Matt climbed in and were joined by some eggs. Going flying down the hill squealing they went right off course and missed all of the stars.

With pancake syrup and orange juice added to the mix, Malandra and Matt got inside the ball with Malandra again getting wedged in half way and requiring a shove to get her inside. All that could be heard was hysterical laughter as the pair tumbled down the hill missing all of the targets yet again.

Having enjoyed a full English breakfast of sorts, the celebrities disappeared back to camp.

ITV Cancels Love Island

ITV bosses have announced today that they will not be commissioning a third series of its summer reality show ‘Love Island’.

The announcement came as the network unveiled its winter and spring schedule in London.

Mr Shaps said he had “nothing but admiration” for the production team and the show had been “brilliantly made”.

“But I just don’t think the public appetite… was strong enough for us to bring it back for a third year,” he continued.

I am quite disappointed by this decision as I actually quite enjoyed this years Love Island. However ITV would have got much better ratings if they had not pitched the show as a rival to Channel 4’s Big Brother. Love Island just wasn’t exciting enough and Big Brother is almost a reality TV institution. Maybe they should have aired the show a month earlier, or earlier in the evening. I’m sure that if they experimented in this way they could have attracted a much larger audience.

X Factor: Leona Lewis May Be Too Sick To Perform On Saturday

Due to a severe case of tonsillitis, Leona Lewis has been told that she may not b able to perform on Saturday nights show.

A show insider has informed The Mirror that Leona has not been able to sing all week and is nervous about her performance on saturday.

The source added: ‘We are all just begging it improves over the next 48 hours.’

Is it a ploy to make sure she lasts another week….you never know with Simon Cowell.

Ben Mills Threatens To Quit The X Factor Amid ‘Fix’ Claims

We told you earlier this week that X Factor producers and Simon Cowell had chosen a Kelly Clarkson song as the X Factor winners first single.

Many people have claimed that this is proof that the show bosses are expecting Leona Lewis to win the show. Others have went as far as to suggest that the whole X Factor series has been a fix.

It has emerged today that Leona’s fellow X Factor contestant Ben Mills is not too happy about the song choice either.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Ben’s really angry about the song.

“He doesn’t want to record it and has been saying he will walk out of the show before the final if he thinks anything else is swung in Leona’s favour.

“All the remaining contestants are meant to record the song this week so that it is ready for release once the winner is announced.

“But Ben thinks Leona now has an unfair advantage and is convinced he’s being stitched up by Simon Cowell.”

THE SECRET MILLIONAIRE: Channel 4

THIS ARTICLE CONCERNS THE 2006 CHANNEL 4 SECRET MILLIONAIRE SERIES, FOR MORE UP TO DATE ARTICLES CLICK HERE.

Channel 4’s new five part documentary series begins on Wednesday the 29th November at 9pm.

Each week a different multi-millionaire searches for people whose lives he or she can change for the better. Each of our modern-day philanthropists must guarantee to give away thousands of pounds of their own money. For ten days, the millionaires leave their wealthy lifestyle behind and go undercover to live in some of the UK’s toughest areas. They conceal their true identities and immerse themselves in communities with the aim of finding those people that they think deserve their help. On the last day of their visit, they reveal their secret and write their cheques.

Ten years ago, aged just 16, Ben Way made a life changing business deal worth 25 million pounds, making him one of Britain’s youngest self-made millionaires. Six years later, he’d lost the lot. Now, aged 26, Ben has successfully rebuilt his fortune. But, now fully aware of how tough life can be when you hit rock bottom, he wants to find others who deserve a helping hand. “I’ve been incredibly lucky to have ended up on this side of the tracks. I see it a bit like Russian roulette. My life played Russian roulette with me. Fortunately I won and some people haven’t and I can find those people and change their lives.”

In the opening film, Ben says goodbye to his private plane, his central London bachelor pad and his fine dining to live on one of the toughest estates in London. He travels just seven miles across town to Hackney - one of the city’s most deprived areas - notorious for gang culture, violent crime and where nearly 60 percent of the kids grow up in single parent families. For ten days he works as a volunteer youth worker at the Pedro Club alongside its inspirational manager, Ufu, who greets Ben by saying, “welcome to murder mile.” During his stay, Ben lives in a room in a shared flat on the local estate.

But how easy will it be for Ben to befriend a group of youngsters and discover who is most deserving of his help? The kids at the club have a tremendous support and ‘father figure’ in Ufu, who dedicates so much of his time to them and the youth club. Ufu is greatly supported by James Cook, ex-British and European professional super middle weight boxing champion. For the past ten years he has been a local outreach worker, patrolling the streets looking for young people who are truanting or involved in drugs.

Ben struggles to decide who deserves his money, but after an emotional ten day visit he finally reveals his identity and the true purpose of his stay…. how will his new friends react?
