Any Dream Will Do: Nick Parks Gets Through To Joseph School

Belfast boy, Nick Parks, was seen on Any Dream Will Do tonight wowing firstly Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and secondly the four judges at the audition recalls.

Nick badly wanted to impress his grandparents, who have raised both him and his brother, and if his version of Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar didn’t do that then nothing will!

As an Irish girl, it’s great to see a fellow irish person far well. I hope to see Nick in the final 10!

Any Dream Will Do: The Auditions

Any Dream Will DoThousands of hopefuls have auditioned up and down the country and the judges now have the arduous task of whittling down the best in a series of call backs, followed by Joseph School and a final live performance to find a new Joseph.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is looking for a completely raw talent that he can turn into a superstar. “There have been some great Josephs,” says Andrew, “but, unlike Maria, there hasn’t been an ‘iconic’ Joseph.

“The audience have their favourites but I’m looking for someone with star quality, real charisma, to hold that show in what is a really complex character.”

Andrew continues: “There hasn’t been a male rock superstar cast in a role for some time and that’s what I’m looking for ” somebody like Justin Timberlake.”

And just a few months ago, at the regional interviews, they didn’t disappoint when thousands of talented boys auditioned in Cardiff, Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester and London. Continue reading ‘Any Dream Will Do: The Auditions‘ »

Britain’s Got Talent: Simon Cowell, Childcatcher!

Music mogul Simon Cowell has been nicknamed ‘The Child Catcher’ on the set Britain’s Got Talent due to his unfriendliness towards kids who audition.

X Factor’s Mr Nasty, who has no children of his own, was given the name as his fellow judges, including Amanda Holden, noticed his dislike of the younger auditionees for the new ITV talent show.

Amanda stated:

“He just doesn’t like children, he’s not interested. When they come on you can see he isn’t interested.”

“I would not bring my daughter to work. I had a photo of her on my phone and Simon just said, ‘You’ve got dogs too, haven’t you? Have you got a picture of a dog?’”

Sir Alan Sugar Will Fire TWO Apprentices Next Week

The ApprenticeSir Alan Sugar becomes so angry with his apprentices in next weeks show, that he loses his temper and fires TWO of the incompetents.

This is a first for the show and The Mirror reported today that Sir Alan fires the first loser and then says to the remaining pair: “I’m telling you now - as unusual as it is - one of you is still going to get fired.”

He reportedly adds to the unfortunate team members: “I told you never to underestimate me. And don’t try to second guess what I’ll do.”

I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes at that meeting!

Is John Barrowman Fattist?

John Barrowman has been accused of being ‘fattist’ this week after comments he made about applicants to the BBC’s new reality show, Any Dream Will Do.

John will appear on the Charlotte Church show tonight, and Charlotte confronts him saying:

“You were quoted last week in the press saying that fatties need not apply”.

To which John replies: “That was a mis-quote and what I actually said was that you have to be physically fit in order to perform in eight shows a week, but that doesn’t mean you have to be a size 0.

“It doesn’t mean you have to be thin to be physically fit … you can still be full figured”.

Do you believe him?
