Tonight’s Latin-themed DanceX on BBC One saw the public vote force Bruno to pick one of his team to leave the competition.
Having watched each team perform as a group for the first time, the voting public decided that, this evening, Arlene’s team was the best.
This left Bruno to pick the two contestants he considered to be the weakest performers in his group to compete directly against each other for the chance to stay in the competition. Read more & comment »
Danny Wallace, presenter of BBC reality TV show Castaway, has spoken to Hot Stars magazine about why he thinks the show flopped.
“I wanted to do it because it was three months on a beautiful island and I got paid,” Danny told Hot Stars magazine. “If something sounds fun then I’m there.
“People are used to reality shows every night and I think Castaway being on once a week was a bit strange. Once the show was put on three times a week, the ratings improved, but it was too late. Some things catch on, some don’t.”
On last night’s Big Brother eviction show, Davina McCall informed viewers that when the BB housemates chose two halfway housemates to join them in the house, there would be a sting in the tale.
A Channel 4 press release seems to indicate that the new housemates will no be joining the normal housemates, but swapping places with two of them.
The Press Release read: Over the next two days all of the ‘halfway housemates’ will spend time in the Big Brother House and this Monday (30 July) two of them will swap places with existing housemates. Read more & comment »
Admittedly, I haven’t been watching Big Brother much this year. Despite a promising start, the series just hasn’t caught my attention. I do know that BB isn’t performing to previous standards though and from what I’m reading in the papers, viewers are switching off in droves.
So naturally, on the night that Charley was destined to leave - an eviction so certain the bookies were paying out in advance - Big Bro has sent in the Big Guns.
DAVID PARNABY, 25, from Ayr Store manager David is an “open-minded practising pagan”. His first love is nature and his second is fashion. He wants to win.
David has been the first halfway housemate to enter the main Big Brother house tonight. I have to say he is the most normal freak in the halfway house.
In yet another Big Brother twists, not only has BB put in five new housemates this week, but they will also allow the current housemates to choose two who can remain for the duration.
David, the 25 year old visual manager pagan, was the first halfway housemate to be introduced to the main house.
The housemates will make their choice on Monday, but as Davina revealed tonight there will be one or two stings in the tale before then…….exciting!
KARA-LOUISE HORNE, 22, from Harrow Student Kara-Louise claims she’s “extremely gorgeous and exceedingly bright”. A pal thinks she looks like Mariah Carey “only much fitter”. Privately-educated, has issues with “common people”. Wants to work in PR.
Kara-Louise is a self confessed grinning idiot, who will smile stupidly at anything. She hasn’t got much fashion sense, and her bright orange puffball dress tonight was hideouso!
SHANESSA REILLY, 27, from Cardiff. Part-time care assistant Shanessa calls her daughter “mini-me” and says her dream job would be to work as a bunny girl at the Playboy mansion. Spends £600 a month on hair extensions. Will be nominated because “they think I’m a slapper or stupid”.
Shanessa entered Big Brother tonight in a ridiculus bright pink almost dress that didn’t nearly cover her rolls of back fat. God…..please don’t choose her housemates.
AMY ALEXANDRA, 21, from: Lincolnshire Amy is a glamour model and ex-shelf-stacker who idolises Jordan. Has two horses, Velvet and Arken. She wants to be on Big Brother to make a name for herself.
Amy entered the house tonight wearing a pair of white knickers and a skimpy black waistcoat type top. She is obviously hoping to make a name for herself in the glamour/porn industry. Unfortunately I have no doubt that most of the male housemates will want to keep her!
JONTY STERN, 36, from London. Vegetarian museum assistant Jonty collects teddy bears (he has 50) and old coins. Read welsh studies at uni. Ran the Doctor Who Society. Speaks Welsh, French, German, Yiddish, Hebrew, Albanian and Cornish.
Jonty looks decades older than his 36 years. He has never had sex but regularly enjoys spanking sessions with both sexes. Jonty looks like someone who would flash at you in a dark alley, and as he entered the house tonight with his cuddly monkey I swore I wouldn’t make any spanking the monkey jokes. So I won’t!
BBC reality TV show, has won the Saturday night ratings battle as it trounced ITV’s Sing It Back in the ratings last Saturday.
DanceX pulled in 4.8 million viewers and peaked with nearly 6 million. Sing It Back Lyric Champion hosted by Radio1 DJs JK and Joel, pulled in a paltry 1.9 million, 1.3 million down on its debut.
Last night a BBC spokeswoman said: “We’re particularly pleased a third of all viewers saw Arlene’s battle with Bruno unfold.”
