ITV have released a statement saying that there were “no irregularities” in the X Factor voting system on Saturday night.
Although OFCOM have received more than one thousand complaints from Rhydian fans claiming that they couldn’t get through when they tried to vote on Saturday night, ITV have stated:
“We know there are many Rhydian fans who are disappointed that he did not win, but the simple fact is that Leon won The X Factor fair and square.” They added that in the end Leon won “by a full 10% of the vote”. Read more & comment »
Malcolm McLaren may have chickened out of appearing on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity TV show, but it seems he has had no reservations in signing up with Channel 4.
The Sun has reported that the former Sex Pistols manager has agreed to take part in new E4 Big Brother show, Celebrity Hijack.
A source told the newspaper:
“We have Malcolm on board – something ITV couldn’t do.”
Not really that surprising given the distinct lack of rats and kangaroo penis!
Wouldn’t you think that all X Factor staff would be under contract to publicly support the TV show, and all who came from it?
Well obviously not, as X factor presenter Dermot O’Leary stated on his Radio Two show today that he preferred Christmas song, ‘Don’t Shoot Me Santa’ to Leon Jackson’s ‘When You Believe’.
Media watchdog, OFCOM have revealed that they will be carrying out an investigation into Saturday’s X Factor result after receiving several hundred complaints.
Many Rhydian fans claimed that they couldn’t get through on phone lines while trying to vote for him, yet people were able to vote for Leon over and over again. I know, my elderly aunt voted for him 27 times!
X Factor fan Sylvia Wardley told The Sun: ‘Between six of us we tried to vote for Rhydian 55 times, but only got through twice. We tried Leon and got through straight away.”
Rhydian’s father Malcolm, 60, said: “Rhyd’s not a bad loser, but he feels the same as us about the result - and we think it’s fix. He believes it’s possible he was stitched up. He’s disappointed for himself and his fans.”

Can’t say I blame him!

Dannii Minogue has ended up in Louis Walsh’s bad books yet again, after she snubbed his generous Christmas present.
An X Factor source told The Mirror: “Louis went to great lengths buying presents for his fellow judges. When he knocked on Dannii’s dressing room door, she barely opened it, stuck her arm out, took the present and shut the door again. Louis was staggered.”
Maybe he should have been nicer to her throughout the show and she might have had a bit more time for him!
Lee Mead, Joseph star, and winnder of reality TV show, Any Dream Will Do, has revealed that all he wants for Christmas is his family around him.
Lee, who is currently dating his former judge and mentor, Denise Van Outen, has told What’s On TV:

Swansea Bay Radio, Bridge FM, Radio Pembrokeshire, Radio Carmarthenshire and Scarlet FM - all owned by Town and Country Broadcasting have refused to play the song as they believe that many of Rhydian’s supporters were unable to register their phone votes on Saturday night, resulting in him losing the show.
“Our radio station presenters have been inundated with calls suggesting that during Saturday’s X Factor their votes for Welsh favourite Rhydian, supported by local Neath diva Katherine Jenkins, were not able to be counted as lines were jammed,” programme manager Gareth Davies told Radiotoday.co.uk.
