Sinitta Reveals That Simon Cowell Is A Bad Influence

Sinitta

Singer and TV personality Sinitta has revealed that Simon Cowell is a very bad influence on her two adopted children.

Sinitta told The Sun:

“Simon’s their godfather, I wanted him to feel included.”

“He’s a destructive influence, though! He’s made it his sole purpose to disrupt and undermine everything I have taught them!

“When there’s something they don’t want to eat, Simon will take it and spit it out on the floor, so of course they copy him.”

Sinitta seems to have kept herself in the public eye for the last few years, purely by piggy backing on Mr Cowells success and by selling stories on her famous ex-boyfriend. If I was Simon, and if Sinitta is half as annoying in real life as she is on TV, I think I would start to freeze her out!

Jo O’Meara Forced To Sell Country Home

Jo O'Meara

I am no Jo O’Meara fan by any means, but one has to pity the girl who is heavily pregnant and has now been forced to sell her home.

We have heard very little from S Club Jo since her disastrous appearance on Celebrity Big Brother last year, but whilst on the show she revealed that she was hoping to make enough money to save her country home, as she was struggling to keep up the mortgage payments.

Jo’s move backfired and after she left the show amidst a racism row, no-one wanted to touch her, never mind pay her.

The singer recently put the four-bedroom property in Noaks Hill, Essex, up for auction, but has now accepted an offer of £560,000. Read more & comment »

Marc Bannerman

In the first interview since her split with Marc Bannerman, Cerys Matthews has revealed the real reasons why she dumped him last week.

In the interview with The News Of The World, I’m A Celebrity star Cerys revealed that Marc couldn’t cope with her children, and that she had major problems with his controlling nature.

Cerys revealed that Marc often criticised her basic wardrobe:

“I remember him saying ‘Have you got any other jumpers?’ I think he was surprised that I lived so simply, hate shopping and don’t have a fancy wardrobe.”

The she recalled the first time Marc spent any real time with her two children:

“It was a disaster. We all caught a cold and Glenys Pearl was screaming with a fever. We were switching beds all night and I remember Marc saying, ‘This could be the rest of my life.’ And he looked scared!”

She then spilled the beans on one of their first dates saying: “I remember us going for an Indian meal, one of the only two proper dates we ever had, and he chose what I should eat. Read more & comment »

Bruce Forsyth Thinks There Are Too Many Reality TV Shows!

TV veteran, Bruce Forsyth has remarked that he thinks there are far too many reality TV shows, and that soon people will tire of the format.

MSN quotes the soon to be Knighted Brucie as saying: “For me, there’s too much. X Factor is a great show and I’m not saying there’s not room for that as a show, but too many reality shows have happened.

“The public are starting to think, ‘Is there anything else but reality? What did we do before reality? Were we entertained? And if we were did we enjoy it?’ Personally, I’ve had enough of reality. I want to see performers performing. Read more & comment »

Dancing On Ice: Nicky Slater Just Makes It On Time

Dancing On Ice judge, Nicky Slater made last night’s live show by the skin of his teeth, after he rushed to the studio just minutes after his wife gave birth.

It was during rehearsals for the show that his wife, Christianne, first went into labour, and of course Nicky went to be by her side. But just moments after his baby son was born, Nicky rushed back to the Elstree studios to film last night’s show.

A source told The Sun: “Christianne told him to go. The birth went very well and she told Nicky to do the show.”

Bruce Forsythe To Receive Knighthood

Strictly Come Dancing 2007

Strictly Come Dancing presenter Bruce Forsyth is to be given a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday honours list.

However I imagine the offer is a bitter-sweet one for the TV veteran as it has came about not long after a massive internet campaign demanding that he be awarded this honour by the Queen.

So would he have gotten it alone, or does the Queen actually browse the web from time to time? What do you think?

Simon Cowell Not Welcome At The Oscars

Simon Cowell - X Factor

X Factor judge Simon Cowell has admitted that he was not welcome at last night’s Oscar ceremony in Hollywood. Cowell feels that the movie industry looks down upon TV actors and producers, a point of view that was recently backed up by the gorgeous George Clooney.

Simon told The Mirror: “They think I’m the anti-christ. They don’t like us TV people to be part of it – it’s ridiculous. It reeks of snobbery.

“I have nothing to do with the Oscars – and nor do I want to. I’ll only go if someone has invited me.”

He added: “I hate the whole movie industry. It’s so stuck up I can’t bear it.”

However Simon’s girlfriend Terri Seymour is not so umwelcome and spent her night last night on the red carpet interviewing many of Hollywood’s elite.

Simon remarked: Read more & comment »

X Factor 2008: Sharon Osbourne Asks For More Money!

Sharon Osbourne

I just don’t know what to believe at the minute! Last week we were told that Sharon Osbourne was leaving the X factor due to a fued between her and Aussie judge, Dannii Minogue. Now it is being reported that she wants to stay on, but only if Simon Cowell ups her salary.

The word is that after landing the massive gig of presenting The Brit Awards last week, Sharon thinks she is hot property and worth way more money than Simon Cowell has been paying her to date.

An X Factor insider told The Daily Star: “Until the Brits, Simon thought he had the upper hand and could dictate terms to Sharon.

Dancing On Ice: Linda Lusardi Leaves

Dancing On Ice 2008: Linda Lusardi

Linda Lusardi has skated for the last time on ITV1’s TV show, Dancing On Ice.

Linda ended up in the bottom two tonight along with Coronation Street’s Zaarah, but predictable, all the judges voted to let Linda leave.

On hearing the news, Linda Lusardi said: “I’ve had a ball I really have. It had to end one night, and it was tonight!”

I was sad to see the back of Linda. She was never the most talented skaters on the show, not even close, but she and her partner Daniel had the most amazing chemistry. Linda obviously really loved taking part in the. show, and she put her heart and soul into each performance. Read more & comment »

They Won’t Let Me On TV, So I Took Matters Into My Own Hands…

OK, so I haven’t tried too hard to get on TV. I haven’t tried at all really.

Anyway, we’ve been thinking about doing an occasional video blog to talk about shows we’ve been watching and what we love and hate on TV. I’ll be on the GMTV couch reviewing Emmerdale before you know it!

So, here’s the video…

Now, since this is my first time, let me have your comments. Could you understand the Northern Irish accent? I did try to speak slowly for you ;)

Any ideas for future topics, just drop me a line. And if you’re interested in getting involved in the video blog, I’m open to offers. A willing collaborator would be a good thing!

Nigel Lythgoe: American Idol Contestants Better Than X Factor Singers

american-idol-logo.jpg

American Idol prodcuer, Nigel Lythgoe (you’ll remember him as the man who told Kym Marsh she was fat on Popstars), has claimed that American Idol contestants are more talented than their UK counterparts.

Funnily enough, while watching the American Idol final 24 perform on ITV2 last night, my husband and I were saying the eaxt same thing. They have at least 5 girls who can sing as well as Leona Lewis, and none of their boys are as talentless as Leon Jackson!

Lythgoe commented:

“Each year I am surprised and gratified that the talent just keeps coming [to American Idol]. We’re a much smaller country in the UK and there is a smaller talent pool.

“Here it is topped up every year because you’re allowed to come at 16, and the sort of David Archuletas and the Alexandrea Lushingtons that have just joined us now, well they were nine when we started here, and ten.

“Now they’ve watched this show all the way through their little lives and finally come on it.”

“In the UK we really had to go out there and find it and put notices out there all the time to [say] please come, we’re auditioning. You kept your fingers crossed,” he said.

“It was the same people auditioning for Popstars as it was auditioning for Pop Idol as it was auditioning for Grease is the Word, or whatever other show was on. It was just the same small amount of people. Read more & comment »

X Factor 2008: Sunday Night Results Show

Simon Cowell - X Factor

Just when you thought The X Factor couldn’t get any bigger, it looks like it will now take over our whole weekend viewing as ITV decide to launch a results show on Sunday nights.

In a move that will make it more like American Idol, The X Factor main show will go out on Saturday, the public will have a full day to vote (meaning more votes and more money for Mr Cowell), and then on Sunday we can look forward to the full length results show.

Last year the BBC tried out this format with Strictly Come Dancing, and their Sunday night results show regularly pulled in up to ten million viewers.

ITV are very clear to point out that they are not actually copying the BBC, but were influenced to move to Sundays after the success of the Dancing On Ice Sunday show.

A sourve told The Sun: Read more & comment »
