We recently reported that the Australian Idol judges would be travelling to London in order to discover some ex-pat Australians who may have what it takes to appear on the reality TV show.
It has now been revealed that pop stars, Darren Hayes and Tina Arena, will be joining the normal judges in the search of London talent.
Hayes, former frontman of band Savage Garden, told Confidential: “As an Australian entertainer living in London I definitely have a soft spot for Aussies trying to make it overseas. Rather than judging people, I’m going to be looking for that little bit of magic that someone once saw in me. This story just baffles me! The Sun have reported that Iceland have signed Kerry Katona once again as the face of their brand. Neither is she doing it for free, just to keep her face on the telly. No the supermarket chain are paying her a six figure sum for the pleasure!
Now either Iceland bosses don’t lower themselves to watch reality TV, so they don’t know how badly this girl comes across. Or worse still, they just don’t care because Kerry is exactly the sort of mum they want to lure into their freezer aisle!
In a tribute to the late Mike Reid, ITV1 will air The Baron, the final TV show he made before his death last July. The show will launch this Thursday night.
The show will start three days after Mike Reid, Malcolm McLaren and Suzanne Shaw arrived in the remote Scottish village of Gardenstown. Mike immediately started on his PR offensive, Suzanne went after the vital kids vote while Malcolm embarked on a less than orthodox campaign. The competition for the title of Baron is hotting up and over the next three days the candidates start to turn on each other.
Dancing On Ice runner up, Chris Fountain, has been complaining about Suzanne Shaws shock win and puts her success down to the publicity given to her injuries.
Chris told Star magazine: “I had a few injuries, but nothing that got publicised too much. There was a lot of stuff about Suzanne’s ribs and Suzanne’s ankle, but I didn’t want to be seen moaning about getting injured. It’s ice skating - you’re bound to get injured.
Viewers of BBC One’s I’d Do Anything who have been singing along on the sofa whilst enjoying the show now have the opportunity to have a go themselves!
Accompanying the television series will be a number of free BBC Learning events across the UK giving thousands of people the chance to sing as part of a group with the BBC Singers and musicians from the BBC Orchestras, as well as some familiar faces.
Adults and children over the age of eight are welcome to attend these fun and friendly sessions with songs from musical theatre.
All levels of ability will be catered for – from keen amateurs to absolute beginners who have never dared sing in public before.
Event details were announced by Graham Norton in the I’d Do Anything results show last night (Sunday 27 April 2008).
Anyone watching the I’d Do Anything results show last night couldn’t have missed Sir Andrew Lloyd Webbers furious departure from set before the show ended.
Sir Andrew was forced to choose between Niamh Perry and Keisha Amponsa-Banson after the sing off and rightly chose to save Niamh.
But Andrew snapped: “This is a complete and utter travesty. Neither of you should be in the bottom two, it’s completely wrong.
“I’ve been put into a situation that I have never wanted to be in.
“For the first time on a television show, I am angry.”
A reality TV show featuring Sarah Ferguson has been put in jeoprady after one of the main stars of the show was arrested over the drug death of a friend.
The show was provisionally called “The Duchess In Hull” and was to see Sarah moving to Hull and helping the unhealthy Sargerson family, living on benefits improve their eating habits.
But this Saturday police arrested Terri Sargerson, 24, after the death of an 18-year-old man at her council flat in Hull.
Reality TV star, Katie Price, may be about to make her big screen debut. Producers of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, a remake of the classic 1988 film are reportedly keen for her to take on the role of Elvira.
“It’s a very good time to be British in Hollywood and you can’t fail to notice Jordan - she knows how to shine,” an insider told the Daily Star. “Cassandra Peterson has been in talks about a remake for some time but didn’t want to take on the role again herself, even thought she still appears as Elvira.
