Australian Idol: Darren Hayes and Tina Arena Hold Auditions In London

Australian Idol

We recently reported that the Australian Idol judges would be travelling to London in order to discover some ex-pat Australians who may have what it takes to appear on the reality TV show.

It has now been revealed that pop stars, Darren Hayes and Tina Arena, will be joining the normal judges in the search of London talent.

Hayes, former frontman of band Savage Garden, told Confidential: “As an Australian entertainer living in London I definitely have a soft spot for Aussies trying to make it overseas. Rather than judging people, I’m going to be looking for that little bit of magic that someone once saw in me. Read more & comment »

Kerry Katona Signs Six Figure Iceland Deal!

Kerry Katona: Crazy In Love

This story just baffles me! The Sun have reported that Iceland have signed Kerry Katona once again as the face of their brand. Neither is she doing it for free, just to keep her face on the telly. No the supermarket chain are paying her a six figure sum for the pleasure!

Now either Iceland bosses don’t lower themselves to watch reality TV, so they don’t know how badly this girl comes across. Or worse still, they just don’t care because Kerry is exactly the sort of mum they want to lure into their freezer aisle!

It has certainly put me off buying any of their Turkey Twizzlers! Read more & comment »

In a tribute to the late Mike Reid, ITV1 will air The Baron, the final TV show he made before his death last July. The show will launch this Thursday night.

Dancing On Ice: Chris Fountain Complains About Suzanne Shaws Win

Dancing On Ice 2008: Chris Fountain

Dancing On Ice runner up, Chris Fountain, has been complaining about Suzanne Shaws shock win and puts her success down to the publicity given to her injuries.

Chris told Star magazine: “I had a few injuries, but nothing that got publicised too much. There was a lot of stuff about Suzanne’s ribs and Suzanne’s ankle, but I didn’t want to be seen moaning about getting injured. It’s ice skating – you’re bound to get injured.

“I had bruises everywhere, but I just got on with it.” Read more & comment »

Andrew Lloyd Webber FURIOUS At Keisha’s Departure

Anyone watching the I’d Do Anything results show last night couldn’t have missed Sir Andrew Lloyd Webbers furious departure from set before the show ended.

Sir Andrew was forced to choose between Niamh Perry and Keisha Amponsa-Banson after the sing off and rightly chose to save Niamh.

But Andrew snapped: “This is a complete and utter travesty. Neither of you should be in the bottom two, it’s completely wrong.

“I’ve been put into a situation that I have never wanted to be in.

“For the first time on a television show, I am angry.”

I don’t know why Lloyd Webber is so upset. He may have liked Keisha, but this was her third time in the bottom two and if she can’t connect with an audience then how good would she be on a West End stage? Read more & comment »

Piers Morgan & Alan Sugar Fight By Text!!

Britain’s Got Talent judge, Piers Morgan has admitted that he and Apprentice boss, Alan Sugar have been trading insults by texts. How very modern!

“Britain’s Got Talent has been hitting about 11.5 million while The Apprentice has about 8.5 million viewers,” Morgan told the Daily Star Sunday. “I loved it the other day when Sir Alan sent me a text comparing himself to a maggot because he says his show is going to slowly catch up and overtake us in the ratings war.

“I decided to look the definition of maggot up in the dictionary and I have to say I agree with his description of himself. A maggot is described as like ‘a larva often found in decaying, dying matter’. In American dictionaries they call a maggot a ‘revolting human being’. I would probably agree with that also.”

Sugar recently claimed that Piers is nothing more than Simon Cowell’s “monkey” on Britain’s Got Talent. Read more & comment »
