Strictly Come Dancing 2008: Watch This Tom Chambers Tap Dancing Video

Holby City star Tom Chambers has been signed up for this years Strictly Come Dancing series, but some people are wondering how he can compete as an amateur, when judging by the video above he is as good as some of the professional dancers.

However a source close to Tom told The Sun that he has no ballroom experience and only made the Fred Astaire video to drum up some new auditions for him before he landed the role in Holby.

“He is not a highly trained dancer.

“He really made this video out of desperation.

“He was an unemployed actor for six years, working as a lorry driver without a sniff of an audition.

“In a bid to make himself stand out in the crowd, he spent eight-and-a-half months studying the video of Fred Astaire. Read more & comment »

X Factor: Can Things Get Any Worse For Alan Turner

I am betting that X Factor auditionee is wishing that he hadn’t bothered auditioning for The X Factor now.

He was seen on last Saturdays show crying about being raised in foster care and not knowing his real family, however his Dad was quick to point out in last weekends newspapers that he was in regular contact with his son.

Alan tried to defend himself in a statement last week, but today his mum and ex-girlfriend have added their stories to the mix and it does not paint a pretty picture of the singer.

“I have been a good mum to my son. I adore him but he has hurt me beyond belief,” Alan’s mum Debbie told The People.

She claims that she saw her son just a week ago before he went on holiday with friends.

“I gave him a kiss and wished him all the best,” she explained. “Then he suddenly said, ‘I might be on the telly next Saturday and it might upset you, but don’t worry about it’.”

Alan’s ex-girlfriend Alison Jennings has also spoken out about her fury when Alan told The Mirror that he may not be the biological father of their five-year-old daughter. Read more & comment »

Nick Knowles Thought ‘Last Choir Standing’ Would Be A Flop

Nick Knowles who is currently presenting ‘Last Choir Standing’ on Saturday nights, revealed that when he was first approached to host the show he thought it would flop.

Knowles told the Daily Mail: “When they first approached me, I said, ‘You’re mad. Who’s going to watch a Saturday night entertainment show with the word ‘choir’ in the title?’ It conjures up images of Songs Of Praise.

“But they convinced me to have a look at some of the early footage – the back stories about some of the entrants. I was blown away. One of the first things I saw was this group of WI women singing ‘I Predict A Riot’ by the Kaiser Chiefs. I thought, ‘This is brilliant; funny and inspiring. Superb telly.’ Read more & comment »

Graham Norton Won’t Do Strictly Come Dancing

Camp TV presenter, Graham Norton has revealed that he would never appear on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing as he fears he would be as bad a dancer as GMTV host, Kate Garraway.

“If you can’t do it, you can’t do it,” Norton told the Daily Record. “Some people do get better but others look like they are recovering from an accident. It’s just terrible.

“I like to think I’d be the one who learned incredibly quickly and in one week got the key to my dance and then was brilliant, but I’ve got an awful feeling I’d be more like Kate Garraway.”

X Factor Twins, Francine & Nicola Arrested For Swearing At Fans

X Factor auditionees, Francine and Nicola Gleadall were once arrested for swearing at a heckling crowd during one of their performances.

The 19 year old twins performed at a Sheffield match in 2006, but halfway through their performance the crowd started jeering an booing them, they responded by launching a foul-mouthed tirade and had to be escorted from the stage by the police.

They were arrested, fined £80 and forced to make a public apology.

Their statement read: “Our actions were totally knee-jerk. When we heard the foul abuse being shouted at us from the crowd, our natural defence mechanism took over.”

The girls’ father David told the Daily Star: “I am rooting for them on The X Factor. What they did two years ago is behind them. They were young and naive at the time.”

Dermot O’Leary Still Likes Big Brother

Former Big Brother’s Little Brother host, Dermot O’Leary has revealed that he stilll enjoys watching Big Brother on Channel 4 and thinks BB9 is a great series.

Dermot left the show last year after landing the rold of X Factor presenter in 2007.

“I have followed BB this year,” Dermot told We Love Telly magazine. “I think from week two we’ve all had a good idea of who’s going to get to the final. All that show needs is a couple of panto villains and a couple of heroes and it’s on to a winner – and that’s what it’s had.” Read more & comment »

So What Did You Think Of X Factor 30th August?

We are getting through this series rightly now, in fact it’s hard to believe that we are already on our third X Factor show of 2008.

So what did you think of tonight’s talent installment? There was definitely some talent there. I quite liked Laura from Bolton, who stunned the judges with her rendition of ‘Somebody’s Else’s Guy’. Scott Bruton wasn’t bad when he sang ‘You”l Never Walk alone, but he should never have told Simon that he worked in a holiday camp and 80 year old Cyril had to be the cutest thing I have ever seen!!

However with the good, came the awful and they included Guylene, Read more & comment »
