Adam Lambert no show for American Idol 2010 finale rehearsal?
Adam Lambert was reportedly dropped from the lineup for tonight’s American Idol finale show, because he didn’t turn up for a rehearsal this week.
It wouldn’t be Idol if there wasn’t some element of drama, and it is especially fitting since it’s Simon Cowell’s last night. Insiders say that Adam Lambert didn’t turn up to practice his performance and tribute to Simon, so bosses cancelled his appearance altogether, even though it threw their schedule into disarray.
A source told PopEater that they aren’t sure “if Adam is sick, being a diva, or worse, planning something that he does not want people to see.” Whatever the reason was, it seems that Idol producers and Lambert’s management haven’t managed to sort the problem and as far as we know, last year’s runner up won’t be appearing on tonight’s show.
Weirdly, Adam previously admitted that he hoped to be performing on the season finale. He told MTV news:
“I hope to come back for the finale….Unfortunately, I’m going to be gone for Idol Gives Back… I’m going to be in Europe for three weeks, promoting my album…”
However on May 19th he tweeted:
“Unfortunately not performing on Idol Finale. Guess they have plenty of artists booked.”
So was he trying to through us off the scent and keep his appearance a surprise? That’s what sources are suggesting at this point. We’re still hoping for a last minute reconciliation and we aren’t giving up hope. Would you like to see Adam on tonight’s show? Leave your comments below.
