Former American Idol finalist Adam Lambert has been booked to perform on one of this year’s results shows.

Adam, who came second on last year’s series and eventually lost out to Kris Allen, revealed on Twitter today that he will soon be making his Idol return.

He tweeted:

“Yes, I have been booked on Idol! Can’t reveal the date yet but it’s a ways off… So excited. Kris and Allison were awesome last night.”

Adam’s last single ‘Whataya Want from Me’ was released in America in November 2009 but we think that by the time his Idol performance rolls around he’ll have another one to promote.
