American Idol 2010: Aaron Kelly – ‘I’m Already There’ (VIDEO)

We have previously loved watching young Aaron Kelly on American Idol but last night he really disappointed us with his performance. Aaron tackled Lonestar’s ‘I’m Already There’ on the live show and we feel that the song brought him right out of his depth.

Aaron’s opening line was so shaky and pitchy and we understand what Kara was saying about him being too young to sing this song. It seems like he wasn’t invested in it at all, maybe because he didn’t understand the subject matter.

Judges Comments:

Randy Jackson: You have the makings of a great man and I thought this was really good. You need to work on the low notes but when you hit the power zone in the middle I though this dude can sing.

Ellen DeGeneres: I love you and the way you carry yourself is real. You have the confidence of someone much older. You’ve sounded better and I think that was little too much song for you. It wasn’t terrific.

Kara DioGuardi: I love you, you always give it your all. But that song is about a man calling home to talk to his kids and you are only 16 years old, you have no connection to it.

Simon Cowell: Kara you are talking complete and utter rubbish. It is a beautiful song and it was the right type of song for you to sing. It wasn’t a great vocal but it had emotion and I could see that you were trying really hard.
