American Idol 2010: Adam Lambert reps deny rehearsal no show

Adam Lambert’s management team have denied reports that he was dropped from last night’s American Idol finale lineup, because he failed to turn up to rehearsals this week.

Yesterday Popeater reported that Adam had planned to sing on Simon Cowell’s final show (which Lee DeWyze won BTW), however sources said that the For Your Entertainment’ singer “did not show up for rehearsals, sending producers scrambling because they weren’t sure ‘if Adam is sick, being a diva, or worse, planning something that he does not want people to see.’”

19 Entertainment’s Roger Widynowski says that Popeater’s sources gave the website completely ‘false information.’ He told EW.com that despite Adam’s tweet to the contrary, the star had planned to sing on the show, until he came down with a bad case of laryngitis at the weekend.

With his Glam Nation tour about to begin next week, Adam was promptly placed on vocal rest.

“He was never confirmed to do the show. He never skipped rehearsal. That was completely fabricated,” added Widynowski.

Later today Adam tweeted about the situation saying:

“Would have loved 2 have been at the Idol Finale to wish Simon farewell and support the finalists, but this tour for my fans is my priority.”

Shortly after he posted another tweet, saying “I have now just been made aware of more gossip and rumormill: First of all, i was never asked to appear on the finale in any capacity. 2nd: I DID come down w a throat bug most likely caught on my flight back from this past weekends’ concert in Boston.”

That’s that cleared up then!
