Former American Idol contestant Alex Lambert has signed up for web reality TV show If I Can Dream.

The show documents the story of six young people who dream of success in Hollywood. People reports that Lambert will join Miley Cyrus’s former beau Justin Gaston, actors Kara Killmer, Amanda Phillips, Ben Elliott and model Giglianne Braga.

A Simon Fuller production, IICD will go out on the show’s official website and weekly episodes will air every Monday on Hulu.

Alex’s good fortune could be as a result of a petition set up by disgruntled fans, enraged by the decision to eliminate him from Idol. The petition received thousands of signatures, making it clear to Simon Fuller that Alex has an active fan base who will hopefully follow him to his newest venture.
