Once again Crystal Bowersox stole the show for us on last night’s American Idol. Performing Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason,” with her electric guitar in hand, we saw why Simon Cowell sees the folk singer as the stand out contestant of this season.

The only recommendation is that perhaps Crystal should vary her song choice just a little as she has quite a few live shows left if she goes far and the normal folksy bluesy songs could become a little samey.

Randy Jackson: This what this show is about for me. love that, love the song, I’m a fan, that was hot!

Ellen DeGeneres: “I need new adjectives for you! I’m sick and tired of saying you’re amazing! Best performance of the night.’

Kara DioGuardi: This is what we talk about when we say people know what you are. It was a great song choice, it was contemporary. I am beginning to see the record you could be making and that’s when I get excited.

Simon Cowell named Crystal as ‘the one to beat’ declaring, “You are one million billion percent going to be in the top 12. Definitely the most improved artist, because you’ve got confidence.”
