We know that American Idol is all about finding a talented singer and performer, so why then do we enjoy the strange and kooky auditions as much as we do?

General Larry Platt’s rendition of his own composition ‘Pants On The Ground’ had us laughing so much that our pants were almost in the wash!

When Platt started singing his song, the judges were just watching his performance in pure bewilderment. But that soon turned to fits of laughter from Kara Dio Guardi and guest judge Mary J Blige. And even when Simon Cowell told Larry to stop, he kept on with his crazy routine.

Simon seemed amazed to hear that Larry was 62 years old and assured him that his song has the potential to be a hit!

Surely they have to bring Larry back for a later live show?
