When Holly Harden popped up on American Idol last night, we didn’t hold out much hope for her singing voice. After all if you are really talented, would you bother distracting the judges and dressing up as a guitar?

However, we grudgingly had to admit that Holly’s version of “You Ain’t Woman Enough to Take My Man” was really very good. She belted it out with a big, beautiful alto voice that seems wrong for this little girl with a high-pitched voice.

Even Simon – who usually hates gimmicks – liked Holly, saying that she looked a bit like an insect but could actually sing. She got three yes votes, with Mary saying no and adding, “I don’t get it.”
