American Idol 2010: John Park, Jermaine Sellers, Michelle Delamor & Haeley Vaughn voted off

American Idol contestants John Park, Jermaine Sellers, Michelle Delamor and Haeley Vaughn were eliminated from the show last night.

On the results show Ryan Seacrest revealed that 27 million votes had been cast (that seems like a ridiculously high number to us!), the group sang “I Got a Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas (we preferred the X Factor group version last year) and Danny Gokey wowed us with “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me.”

John Park was the first boy to be eliminated and we are kind of sad because we think that he actually had a great deal of untapped potential. On this week’s live show John sang ‘Gravity’ by John Mayer and the judges agreed that it was boring and lacked conviction. He sang his final song was slightly better than he did first time round, it was enough to kind of make us regret the result.

Jermaine Sellers was the next boy to meet his fate. On this week’s show Jermaine sang What’s Going On? by Marvin Gaye. We hated his styling and thought that the song really strained his voice. On hearing his fate he said that there is no failing when God is in your corner.

Michelle Delamor
was the first girl to be voted off, which shocked us a bit. We liked her rendition of ‘With Arms Wide Open’ by Creed and thought she had good stage presence. With the pressure off, Michelle sang her final song even better than she did first time round.

Last to be eliminated was Haeley Vaughn. Haeley disappointed the judges with The Climb by Miley Cyrus this week and we weren’t a bit surprised to see her go.
