Kara DioGuardi has denied that she is feuding with singer Katy Perry.

The American Idol judge had a whole host of disagreements with Katy when she joined the judging panel in Los Angeles. But Kara claims that she was glad Katy had her own opinions.

“People actually think that I was upset by this – like there was tension,” Us Magazine quotes DioGuardi as saying.

“I think that it’s really good that she disagreed with me. I think that it’s important that people have different opinions or else who wants to watch the show? It’d be boring. It’s Katy. I’ve known Katy for a long time.”

Kara added: “My Italian cousins back home wrote me texts like, ‘Does she need a smack down?’ I was like, ‘No. You’ve got to chill out’.”
