American Idol contestant Katelyn Epperly can sing, there is no doubt about that but if she doesn’t manage to catch peoples attention within the next few weeks we think she is going to struggle.

On last night’s live show Katelyn sang Coldplay’s “The Scientist” and it was good but it was just sooooo very slow! We loved the fact that she played piano and showed that she has varied musical skills but she needs to work on her performance skills if she makes it through to next week’s show.

Randy Jackson said that the performance was strong, but that it was a really slow song. Ellen DeGeneres told her that she fell asleep during it, which we totally agree with.

Kara DioGuardi disagreed and said she “kind of loves her”. She added that her biggest problem is being “all over the place” and she needs to figure out who she is.

Simon Cowell described The Scientist as a “smart choice of song” because it made her contemporary, but worries that she becomes “quite corny” when she performs.
