We loved American Idol contestant Katelyn Epperly’s recent Coldplay and Beatles performances, even if the Coldplay one was a little sloooowwwww. So we were expecting great things from her on last night’s live show.

Katelyn chose to sing ‘I Feel The Earth Move’ by Carole King for the judges this week and once again accompanied her vocals by a impressive keyboard performance. However we found her song choice very blah this week and while she hit every note perfectly, it was by no means exciting, different or interesting. She didn’t light the stage up for us this week.

Judges Comments:

Randy Jackson: I like that you did the Carole King hair but I didn’t feel the right connection or vibe. It felt very put on, there was nothing special about it.

Ellen DeGeneres: I don’t know that that was the song to chose to wow people with. I don’t know if that will make people pick up the phone.

Kara DioGuardi: I didn’t feel like you were competing tonight. It felt like you were just going through the motions.

Simon Cowell: I like your hair. However it was like request night on a Friday night at a restaurant if you were working there. You chose quite a simple song and didn’t do anything special with it. Other people look like they were trying harder.
