Outgoing American Idol contestant Katie Stevens has admitted that she and some of the other female contestants got very close during their time on the show. Singling out previous contestants Lacey Brown and Paige Miles, the 17 year old singer told USA Today:

I was really close to Lacey and Paige – they were like my big sisters. And Siobhan. Andrew and I were in group together during Hollywood Week, so I was close with Andrew and Lee. I’m really happy that I went in this with Andrew and I’m going out with him. It’s really good to have somebody that you’re close with go through this with you.

On what the most exciting part of the Idol experience was, Katie admitted that she loved being mentored by the stars. She said:

Being able to be mentored by people that I’ve watched and admired. Usher was incredible. Miley Cyrus – she’s amazing, too, and it was great to get her feedback, since she’s my age and very, very successful. Just getting their feedback on what it’s like in the business and how to better your performing. It was amazing to get that contact and that feedback.
