We have been unsure about American Idol’s Lacey Brown over the last few weeks. Since winning her place in the top 24, her performances have been very hit and miss, so we were hoping that she managed to pull it together and impress us this week.

On last night’s live show Lacey chose to sing Brandi Carlile’s ‘The Story’ and we loved the whole Norah Jones feel to it. We can see why Randy Jackson called it ‘sleepy’ but we actually enjoyed the relaxed vibe and fabulous vocals that Lacey brought to the song.

Simon Cowell: I have to say that I didn’t love love the song but you sang it really well. It sounded like something off the radio. It feels like you’ve been doing this a long time. However I still haven’t hard the right song connection yet.
