American Idol 2010: Larry Platt’s ‘Pants On The Ground’ not so original
Sources are now suggesting that American Idol auditionee Larry Platt’s may not have actually written “Pants on the Ground”.
A Michigan hip-hop duo The Green Brothers have claimed that the song is a “take off” of their “Back Pockets on the Floor” that they recorded in 1996.
A few sample lyrics from “Back Pockets on the Floor”:
“Back pockets on the floor (repeated) …
Walk around here with your cap turned backwards and your pockets on the floor
It’s time to say no to the gangster, the drugs, and the dress code (repeat x3)
It’s time to put your cap on right and get your pockets off the floor.”
Check out “Back Pockets on the Floor” and let us know if you think Larry was lying.
