We have loved ‘Big Mike’ since his first audition with “Unchained Melody,” and he impressed us again last night with “Waiting for the World to Change.”

As he was about to go on stage with his group Team Awesome at Hollywood week, he heard that his wife had just delivered a baby girl. His team stayed by his side while he talked on the phone with his wife during the delivery and as a result, their performance of The Temptations’ “Get Ready” was a little rough.

It was enough to get Big Mike and Tim Urban through but as we know, rumors suggest that Mike later gets booted out of the final 24 because his dad broke the privacy agreement.
