American Idol 2010: Miley Cyrus’ music industry experience was ‘invaluable to contestants’
Many American Idol fans have blasted show bosses for choosing 17 year old Miley Cyrus as the contestants celebrity mentor this week. However show executive producer Ken Warwick has insisted that the Disney star is not too young for the role and added that her advice to the hopefuls has proved ‘invaluable.’
“Miley brought an amazing, youthful energy while working with the Idol contestants this past weekend,” Warwick told People. “Her experience in the music industry and her advice in handling fame at a young age proved invaluable.”
“All of our contestants use what they learn from the mentors each week to carve their own path in the in the competition,” Warwick added, “and Miley was no exception to this.”
The Hannah Montana star will also appear on Wednesday’s results show performing her new single “When I Look at You.” Also performing will be Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato singing their song “Make a Wave.”
