American Idol 2010: Paige Miles disappoints judges with ‘Smile’ (VIDEO)

We weren’t loving Paige Mile’s shaky version of Charlie Chaplin’s ‘Smile’ on last night’s American Idol. We don’t know if she was incredibly nervous, trying to inject fake emotion or if it was just a bad song choice but either way, we think she’s in danger this week.

Judges Comments:

Randy Jackson: That’s one of my favourite songs of all time and it just didn’t work. You have got to be so on top of your game to sing that, it just went completely flat.

Ellen DeGeneres: That song is supposed to be inspiring and uplifting and you made it sad and heavy.

Kara DioGuardi: They’ve said it and it was just so wrong. Tonight was not the night to do that.

Simon Cowell: It was just a horroble choice of song and the arrangement to be fair was just awful. It’s the sort of thing you would hear in the Holiday Inn in 1974. It’s such a shame because you had so much potential but like a lot of people you have no idea who you are and what sort of artist you should be. This might be the end of the road.
