American Idol 2010: Randy Jackson says keeping Michael Lynche was a ‘big save’
The American Idol judges decision to save Michael Lynche on Wednesday night’s results show has shocked many fans of the show, with some suggesting that he didn’t deserve the privilege.
However, judge Randy Jackson has insisted that America got ‘confused’ with their voting this week and is adamant that Big Mike deserved another chance.
He told Us magazine:
“He sang his heart out! “I think sometimes America gets a little confused and probably doesn’t vote for the person they think will still be in it and doesn’t need the votes,”
But he admitted: “It was a big save.”
The decision to save Mike was not made easily. The judges can only save one contestant per season and next week, their save will mean that two singers will be eliminated.
An on-set witness told Us magazine:
“Kara was clearly fighting for him. She was gripping Simon’s arm and waving her hands in the air, gesturing at Mike. Randy also got up and went to talk to them, while Ellen leaned in. Kara was also gripping Randy’s arms.”
So who will leave next week? Surely Teflon Tim has run out of chances by now! As always we’d love to hear your thoughts below.
