American Idol 2010: Todrick Hall sings Glee inspired ‘Somebody To Love’ (VIDEO)

We should have known that someone would choose to sing ‘Somebody To Love’ on this year’s American Idol. After all it did enjoy a huge resurgence after being featured in musical comedy Glee. How long until someone tries to sing Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ now?

We were really interested to see what Todrick did with this classic Queen track on last night’s show as it’s a real favourite of ours. We thought that Tod gave a really strong performance, though it was slightly pitchy in parts. Still it was a lot better than his last two performances on the show.

Judges Comments:

Randy Jackson: Todrick is back! You proved that you can really sing, that was one of the best vocals over the last couple of weeks.

Ellen DeGeneres: You are a brave brave young man. But you made it into a gospel song, I wish it had been a little more committed to that but you did a good job.

Kara DioGuardi: That was really good singing. There were moments though that I didn’t know whether to laugh at it or love it. It was sooo dramatic.

Simon Cowell: It was good in parts, not the whole way through. You’ve told us tonight who you are, you’re a Broadway singer. I see you more as that than a recording artist. Having said that at least you made an attempt at performing and I think that may just have saved you this week.
