It seems that Usher will be the first celebrity mentor on this year’s American Idol season.

The R&B’s star’s website has announced that he will be appearing on both Tuesday 30th March and Wednesday 31st March 2010. These dates would imply that Usher will mentoring on Tuesday and performing on Wednesday night’s results show.

His appearance will coincide with the release of his newest album “Raymond v Raymond,” which hits stores on March 30.

So what theme will the bosses impose on contestants next week then? An R&B week would be cool, or maybe producers will choose a Broadway theme given that Usher has previously starred as Billy Flynn in “Chicago.” No doubt more details will be revealed next week but until then, feel free to leave our suggestions and opinions below!
