Last night’s Atlanta auditions for American Idol kicked off with the dire and deluded Dewone Robinson.

Robinson claimed to have a lot of Motown connections and said that his uncle discovered Gladys Knight and the Pips. He also claimed to have a natural singing ability but all he delivered was a strange original song called “Lady, We’re Not Together Anymore” and it was about as good as you’d expect a song called that to sound. The look wasn’t good either, he was decked out in a high waisted pair of Simon Cowell trousers!

Simon interrupted him twice to try to find out what he was singing, but Dewone blamed his awful performance on Simon for “jumping” on him and ruining his flow. Simon was uncharacteristically nice and allowed him to sing the song again and if it is possible, he was even worse the second time round.

Simon eventually told him it was the worst original song he’d ever heard and Randy started to jokingly call for security.
