American rap star P Diddy has thrown his hat in the American Idol ring and said that he would be the perfect replacement for outgoing judge Simon Cowell.

Simon just served his last season on th hit Fox talent show and is now turning his attention to bringing The X Factor to America. The network are currently considering replacements for the music mogul and Diddy aka Sean Combs thinks he could be just the man. He’s even offered to take a pay cut if he gets the job.

He told GMTV, “As a matter of fact I have a new negotiation, I would take a five per cent cut on what he was getting. He was on something like $34 million, and that’s peanuts.”
