American Idol: Andrew Lloyd Webber Finds American Nancy!

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber missed the I’d Do Anything live show last week as he was in Las Vegas mentoring the contestants from American Idol.
Lloyd Webber described the experience as “bizarre” but thinks he may have found the American Nancy!
Webber said: “I had a great time on American Idol. It was a wonderful, highly theatrical and somewhat bizarre evening.
“If ever Cameron Mackintosh brings Oliver! to Broadway there was a girl who would be one of the greatest Nancys ever.”
Commenting on the contestants performances, Webber said:
American Idol airs on ITV2 at 9pm tonight.

If american Idol has Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber as a Mentor than this programme must have moved on leaps and bounds.
I hope that he still finds some time for himself. As this man is the most selfless person in the history of musical theatre. A pearl.

I’ll admit it was refreshing seeing a positive instructor on “American Idol” for a change but the show itself isn’t going to change at all. It’ll remain based in gossip, pop, and star wanabees. Out of six candidates left, only two of them managed to tackle ALW’s songs but then again, AI is all about pop music and not musical theatre. I strongly suspect ALW meant Syesha Mercado who kicked off the evening with a brassy rendition of One Rock and Roll Too Many from “Starlight Express”. Just listen to her sing!
