Carrie Underwood wowed audiences on Wednesday night’s Idol Gives Back with a performance of her song ‘Change’‘and has revealed that she was happy to take part in the show because it really ‘makes a difference.’

The country star, who won the fourth season of the singing competition, told MTV News backstage: “This is the stuff that really makes a difference.

“We’re coming up on ten seasons of American Idol. Twenty years later, people might not remember who won what, but this is the kind of stuff that can make lives better and people will remember that.”

Underwood also revealed on air that she will be donating 36 cents from every ticket sold for her ‘Play On’ tour to Save The Children’s programs.
