Former American idol finalist Danny Gokey has been waxing lyrical about his debut album ‘My Best Days,’ telling fans that it is an intensely personal piece of work. Claiming that his very DNA is weaved into the songs, Danny thinks that the record will help people connect with him ‘on a whole new level.’

Danny also claimed that he wants his fans to know that his life is in a happier place now and although he has faced tragedy (Danny’s wife passed away a month before his American Idol audition in 2008), he is ‘looking forward to life again.’

In an interview with Walmart Soundcheck Danny said:

On American idol my life became an open book, people saw the tragedy that I faced. One month before the auditions my wife passed away and it was the most devastating time of my life. But I want to tell people now, look at all the good that has come out of something so tragic and so bad. So when I came up with this song, I wanted to say I’m enjoying life again, what almost took me out didn’t take me out and I’m looking forward to life again.
