American Idol: How Did Kris Allen Make Final 12?
I think it would be fair to say that last night’s American Idol show was on of the most forgettable yet. Very few singers stood out and one who certainly didn’t was Kris Allen from Conway Arkansas.
Allen sang Michael Jackson’s ‘Man In The Mirror’ and I found his performance distinctly average. Have a watch of the video above and judge for yourself.
It was easy to predict that Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta would make it to the final 12 contestants. Alison blew the judges away with her rendition of Hearts ‘Alone’, whilst Adam the Emo Elvis strutted his stuff during a fabulous version of the Rolling Stones ‘Satisfaction’. Megan Joy Corkery should have been the third contestant through. I loved her folk sound and would have thought the fact that she strongly resembles Jennifer Garner would have carried her for at least a few more rounds.

I love his blog but I totally disagree. I liked Chris, but not Adam. Chris can sing, he is not so dramatic or exagerated when he sings! Oooh, I can’t stand him! I hope Megan, Mishavonna and Jesse get another chance to shine. They are much better than Adam and Alyson.
Kris is probably best singer on the show! Your crazy! He was definitely best guy performer last night.
I like Kris too. I think the right three went through!
I don’t think he was bad, in fact he is a pretty good singer. But he is so forgettable and has NO chance of winning the show IMO.
Okay so we have different opinions of Kris Allen, that’s cool. I like him you don’t. BUT you are not as smart as you’re trying to sound, I don’t know. Maybe you’re not even from this great country, if you’re not I apologize. But if you are, then know this, Kris Allen is not from Conway, Arizona (AZ)…he is from Conway, Arkansas (AR). See, AR & AZ look really different.

I also completely disagree with you. What is all the fuss about Megan Corkrey. I was completely and utterly distracted by her movements on stage. I felt like going up on stage and tell her how to move. Her voice was nice but her movements were just absolutely awful. On the other hand, Kris Allen did better compared to Adam Lambert. His only problem is that he did not get plenty of air time. I think he can actually go far in this competition based from how Kara raved about him. I also don’t think Simon would have thrown that “chicks are gonna like you” phrase if he doesn’t think Kris should advance. Simon is pretty good at doing that because he criticized David Cook during the finales in order to motivate the viewers to vote. Even though I totally hated Adam’s performance, he knew how to play with the camera and that is important when your audience are TV viewers. Overall, I completely agree with the 3 that got in. Kris Allen definitely deserved to go through because his and Allison’s performance were one of the few that was not distracting or done over-the-top. Megan Corkrey is beautiful and all but she really needs to get someone to choreograph her moves.
