The further into this series of American idol we get, the more baffled I am by Paula Abdul.

Paula is supposed to offer AI contestants constructive advice and criticism, yet week after week we are doing well if she manages to string two coherent sentences together during the whole show.

Now I’m not suggesting for one minute that she is drunk or high, but she certainly behaves as if she is. When its her turn to speak she often seems surprised or spaced out and whilst it is admittedly fun to watch Simon taking the p**s out of her, after a while it just gets tiresome and weird.

I think American Idol producers would do well to cut Paula loose and stick with Kara DioGuardi as their only female judge for AI 2010. Paula adds nothing to the show and at this point is getting plain hard to watch!
