American Idol: Judges use one-off veto to save Matt Giraud

The American Idol judges have used their one-off veto to saved Matt Giraud from elimination. Giraud, who had sung Bryan Adams’ movie soundtrack ‘Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman’ was voted off by the viewers but survived for another week thanks to the judges exercising their once-in-a-season veto.
Simon Cowell said: “We’ve come to a decision. Matt, it’s good news.” Cowell also warned Giraud’s fellow contestants: “I wouldn’t be so quick to congratulate him.”
Cowell ominously added: “This means two people will be going home next week.”
This new twist was announced several weeks ago and all the judges had to agree on who to save, but could only use their veto as long as there were five or more contestants remaining.
The show also featured the return of former contestant-turned-Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson performing a song from her latest album.
American Idol airs at 8pm this Friday on ITV2
