I will admit that for the first few weeks of American Idol the name Kris Allen meant nothing to me. Kris didn’t really stand out as a contender for the winners title and in reality I couldn’t have picked him out of a lineup. However week on week Kris has been improving and last night’s performance of ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ was probably his best yet.

Kris opted to play piano instead of guitar this week and I’m not sure if that made the difference or of his success was all down to song choice, but the judges sure seemed to dig him last night.

Judges Comments:

Randy – “You are so in the zone. So creative. I’m lovin’ you.”
Kara – “That was artistry.”
Paula – “You made it like I’m hearing that song for the first time.”
Simon – “That was a very good arrangement. It was your best performance so far.”
