Last night on American Idol Simon Cowell continued his torrent of unsavoury comments for Matt Giraud.

Giraud took on Coldplay’s Viva La Vida and the judges weren’t overly impressed.

“It was verging on a horrible performance,” judge Simon Cowell said. “It wasn’t the fact that the song was so bad, it was how you performed it. … You turned from someone very cool behind a piano singing Ray Charles, into sort of a wannabe pop star in a very jerky and uncomfortable way, and it has really put me off of you.”

Judge Randy Jackson, was more positive saying: “you’re still one of my favorites,” he then told him to stay away from such “simple songs.”
