American Idol’s latest eliminee Tim Urban has credited his ‘amazing parents’ and ‘great family’ for his positive attitude to life.

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show, the chat show host and Idol judge complimented Tim’s mature outlook on life and vibrant personality saying:

“More than any other contestant, I think I know who you are and America knows who you are more than any other contestant left. Because a lot of them are not showing their personality and we got your personality. You enjoyed every minute of it right? What prepares you for that and makes you think ‘no matter what I’m going to enjoy it’?

Tim responded:

‘You know, it’s amazing parents. My mom and dad are absolutely amazing people…..a great family and knowing who you are. When I walk up on stage I have to know that I’ve done my best, if I’m satisfied with what I did, then I can’t really let what other people say get me done, otherwise it’s really hard to go out there next week and perform.”

Tim also revealed that he would love to try his hand at acting and gave an amazing rendition of ‘Hallelujah’ for Ellen. If he had done it that well on Idol maybe he’d still be there!
