Outgoing American Idol contestant Andrew Garcia has said that he and roommate Lee DeWyze are “brothers for life.”

The 24-year-old singer from Moreno Valley, Calif was eliminated from the show on Wednesday night, after he performed Elvis’ ‘Hound Dog’ and told reporters:

“We just jam a lot. We’re hoping to write on tour. We found ourselves doing the same thing at the same time, which is really weird!” he said.

“We are like each other’s family. We comfort each other when we’re having a rough time. I will for sure go to the shows to cheer him on! That’s my brother for life.”
