American Idol presenter Ryan Seacrest has revealed that Ben Stiller emails him regularly to try and get all the latest gossip on the show.

Ryan who also presents E! Entertainment’s coverage of red carpet admits that the job is easier when he knows the stars in real life.

“It is nice – look it’s fun when the stars have familiarity. It’s easier when they know you, or know who you are, or know what you do, or have watched something you’ve been on,” he told MSN.

“I mean sometimes they’re fans of American Idol and they’re following along and they’ll ask you questions. …I know that Ben Stiller for example, he watches American Idol and he’ll email me: ‘Hey, who got kicked off?’ you know, the night it’s on.

“I’m like, dude – I can’t tell you, sorry, you’re gonna have to watch. Coming up tonight on prime time!” he added.
