Jennifer Lopez is reportedly planning to stage a large concert in India next month, before the American Idol live shows kick off in The States.

The singer, actress and Idol judge has joined forces with Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra according to the Mumbai Mirror and will spend only one day in the country.

One insider told the publication:

“She will be here on March 6 and stay at a suburban five-star. Due to her rehearsals, they will ensure her hotel is not too far away from the venue.”

“She will perform some of her biggest hits, including her latest album Love? She will fly out of the country the next day.”

Jennifer was back on US TV screens last night, in the latest of the American Idol audition shows.

She was blown away by some of the talent that appeared before them and one lady who impressed all three judges with her stunning vocal skills was Jessica Phillips. The 26 year old singer revealed that she cares full time for her boyfriend, after he suffered a stroke and we’re not normally one for sob stories, but this couple were just so sweet and she is so naturally talented that she totally blew us away.

Casey James has finally finished work on his debut album and confirmed that it is set for release next month.

The 29 year old star shot to fame on the 2010 series of American Idol, when he finished in third place behind Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox and this week revealed that his self titled record will hit the shelves in the US on March 20.

Our sister site in America reported that Casey co-produced the whole album, he also co-wrote nine of the CD’s eleven tracks and said that it will have an old style country and blues influence, which of course is a genre Casey excelled in during his time on Idol.

James released the lead single from the album – “Let’s Don’t Call It a Night” – on iTunes last year and the track went on to peak at number 29 in the US Country charts.

Adam Lambert has admitted that some of the songs on his newest album, have a bit of a ‘f*ck you’ message behind them.

The former American Idol runner up is set to release his second studio album ‘Trespassing’ later in 2012 and revealed that the theme behind a number of the tracks is quite rebellious and energetic.

The flamboyant singer told The Daily Star:

“There are songs on the album about me rebelling against society and saying, ‘F**k you, I’ll do what I want’.

Adam also revealed that the songs cover a whole variety of risque subjects, including ‘cruising for sex’ and insanity. He added:

“‘Cuckoo’ is about me acknowledging I’m insane and celebrating that fact. And ‘Shady’ is a sleazy, disco funk about cruising for sex, so it will be interesting to see how Middle America interprets that.”

Adam’s lead single from the album – “Better Than I Know Myself” – will be released in the UK as a digital download on March 12, 2012.

Trespassing will follow later in the year and includes collaborations from stars such as Pharrell Williams, Benny Blanco, Bonnie McKee, Katy Perry, Nile Rodgers, Sam Sparro and Bruno Mars.

Ethan Jones rocked up on last night’s American Idol episode and Twitter went crazy with thousands of enthusiastic female fans.

The handsome singer already had a bit of a following, as he had previously fronted a band in his home state of Missouri titled ‘The Well Hungarians’ (get the joke?) and has been trying to make a bit of a name for himself for the past few years.

On last night’s episode, the 22 year old opened up about some of his troubled past too and confessed that he originally started singing in a band with his dad, however his father went on to become addicted to alcohol and drugs and recently signed into rehab. He is hoping that success on Idol would help he and his parent become close again and his speech prompted some sharing from Steve Tyler, who has also struggled with addictions in the past.

Steve praised Ethan’s dad for seeking help and for being a powerful ‘example’ to his son, before Jones got started with his rocky rendition of I’ll Be by Edwin McCain.

It was a great and gritty performance, a rock song with a slight country feel and the judges were impressed as soon as Ethan started his first line.

Steve ‘loved the way’ Ethan Jones sang, while Randy Jackson liked that he appeared totally different to how he sounded. He told Jones:

““I like the kind of whole unassuming thing…. you walk in, you look nothing like the way you sound.”

Unsurprisingly all three judges give Ethan a yes and he lands a ticket to Hollywood (next week people yay!) and we were so impressed with Tyler when he even offered to meet the hopeful’s dad when he leaves rehab. Imagine that on camera!

Lauren Gray was one of the impressive ones to try out for the judges on last night’s American Idols how.

The 22 year old singer, from Hardy, Arkansas has plenty of live performing experience, as the lead singer of band Backflashand an occasional performer with wedding group, the Gray Blues Band.

On last night’s episode the blonde beauty revealed that her parents own their own ‘one stop wedding shop’ and that she first started singing with her dad, as part of a wedding band and her ambition has just grown from there. She has always been an Idol fan and was actually traveling to audition for the show in Memphis back in 2005, when Hurricane Katrina blew into town and the tryouts were cancelled.

Lauren Gray took centre stage for Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steve Tyler in St Louis and the panel looked awestruck by her powerful vocal, when she delivered an impressive rendition of Adele’s ‘One And Only.’

We loved the whole bluesy rock feel to her voice and also her stage presence and vocal confidence. She’s good and she knows it…but without being annoyingly cocky!

Afterwards a newly single and slightly emotional Lopez admitted:

“I didn’t need to hear that song right now.”

She added:

“One of the best female voices we’ve heard”

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler added:

“I think I love the way you break. When you deliver a chorus line and you can get up there and break like that, it’s the sexiest thing on the planet and your delivery is great.”

They say Portland is one of the most eclectic places in the USA, so it’s odd that American Idol, with its penchant for weird auditionees, has never visited the city before. What follows is a recap of our Top 5 singers from the Portland round of auditions. If you’re watching Idol from the UK, it’s on ITV2 on Thursday and Friday nights. 5. Naomi Gillies: Naomi opted to sing an Aerosmith song in front of Steven Tyler, which means she’s either bonkers or really, really convinced of her talent. Or a bit of both. Still, her version of Cryin’ was convincing enough, if a little strained in places.

4. Jermaine Jones: Unfortunately dubbed a ‘gentle giant’ by Randy Jackson, this hulking lump of a man stands 6’8″ tall. Sadly, he doesn’t capitalize on what could be a formidable stage presence. His choice of song – Superstar – also sucks. But the judges are in love with his voice, and so they give him one of those Golden Tickets for Hollywood.

3. Britnee Kellogg: This single mother arrives at the Idol auditions with her two children and some extended family in tow. And though she gives the judges a weepy story about how she poured her heart into her husband’s career and he cheated on her, she’s not a country singer! Cleverly picking the Linda Ronstadt track You’re No Good, Britnee surprises the judges – and us – with a fine pop-oriented singing voice. Oh, and she used to be a pageant queen too.

2. Romeo Diahn: A former Liberian refugee, Romeo escaped to the USA and auditions in Portland with a fantastic acapella version of Bob Marley’s Is This Love. His accent lends a unique phrasing to his singing voice, and although Jennifer Lopez questions whether he can handle the variety or musical styles, she agrees that Idol is unlikely to fund anyone else like him.

1. Jessica Phillips: Idol saved the best til last with Jessica Phillips aka Miss Jaye. The 25 year old dental hygienist from Brooklyn auditioned with a cracking version of Faith Evans’ Again, showing a natural musicality and a gorgeous voice. And yes, there was an accompanying story: Jessica cares for her boyfriend who had a massive stroke last year. She hopes that by joining American Idol, it’ll help them to reconnect to music together, something which was important to them before her boyfriend’s stroke.

Adam Lambert has finally released a preview of his next single ‘Better Than I Know Myself.’

The former American Idol contestant produced a teaser clip this afternoon and revealed that the track will be the lead single from his second studio album Trespassing.

The video which accompanies the song is a fairly laid back one and shows the singer relaxing, reading, meditating, looking at himself in a mirror and looking pretty darn hot if we may say so!

Speaking about the song and explaining it’s lyrics, Adam told MTV:

“It’s about the relationship you have with yourself, between your dark and light side. It’s about duality; it’s about that balance and finding it and struggling to maintain it and what it means.”

The chorus contains the lyrics:

Cause if I wanted to go I would have gone by now,
But I really need you near me to
Keep my mind off the edge
If I wanted to leave I would have left by now,
But you’re the only one that knows me
Better than I know myself

The official music video for ‘Better Than I Know Myself’ will be released in two days time, on February 3. The official single is expected on March 12, 2012.

Jennifer Lopez will soon be adding another feather to her cap and will be doing a bit of presenting next month.

The American Idol judge has been named as one of the presenters for this year’s Oscars ceremony.

The news was confirmed yesterday by producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer, who revealed that the ‘On The Floor’ hitmaker would have a role in the upcoming 84th Academy Awards ceremony.

They previously revealed that the cast of “Bridesmaids” would also be presenters last week.

Lopez of course is as well known for her acting and movie career, as well as her music and judging one. She has previously starred in blockbusters such as ‘Maid in Manhattan,’ ‘The Back-Up Plan’ and ‘Monster-in-Law.’ Her next movie will be ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting.’

The Oscars will air on Sunday, February 26 on ABC.

Big hearted Adam Lambert has once again used his birthday, as a chance to do some good in the world and support a charitable cause.

The former American Idol contestant turned thirty yesterday and in a message to his fans, took to his Twitter page to tell his followers that he wanted their help to ‘change the world.’

As well as refraining from sending him gifts, the extrovert singer asked that his fans ask their friends not to buy gifts for their birthdays but instead ask that their nearest and dearest donate the money they would have spent to charity.

Last year for his 29th birthday, Adam raised more than $300,000 for charity: water. According to the charity, that amount broke the record for most donations in a single day, and crashed their servers. This year, as an ambassador for the organisation, he wrote:

“It means that when people ask you what you want for your birthday, you tell them that you’d like clean water, and ask them to donate money, 100% of which will directly fund water projects.”

He added:

“Wait until you see how amazing it feels, and together, I bet we can raise over a million dollars, which will bring thousands of more people clean water.”

Since his time on Idol, Adam has regularly used his fame to support good causes. In 2009 he backed DonorsChoose.org, an online education charity that allows the public to directly donate to school projects and later that year Lambert also contributed to the MusiCares charity when he and The Pennyroyal Studio collaborated the design of an Eye of Horus pendant.

In 2010 March, he released a remix version of his song “Aftermath” with a portion of the proceeds going to support The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBT youth.

In an episode that’s scheduled to air on April 23rd, Scotty will play himself for a performance of his hit single, “The Trouble With Girls.” The track comes from Scotty’s record-breaking debut album, Clear As Day, which was certified platinum earlier this month.
