Megan Joy Corkrey Leaves American Idol & Simon Doesn’t Care!

Megan Joy Corkrey became the latest person to be eliminated from American Idol – and received a final blow from Simon Cowell as she exited the competition.
Corkrey, who sang Bob Marley’s Turn Your Lights Down Low on Tuesday night’s show, left the judges distinctly unimpressed, which Cowell labelled “boring” and “indulgent”. Corkrey’s response was “I love you Simon, but I don’t care”. Unfortunately for her, Cowell picked up on this delivering a knockout blow to her hopes of being saved by the judges, telling her “since you don’t care, neither do we”, before adding “I’m not going to pretend that we’re even going to contemplate saving you”.
Corkrey, who had also had the misfortune of topping a website encouraging viewers to vote for bad — but entertaining — singers, was in the bottom three alongside Anoop Desai and Allison Iraheta.
There was also a special performance from Lady GaGa, who delivered another ‘quirky’ performance of her number one single Pokerface, in a trademark eccentric outfit, accompanied by a piano and wearing a MASQUERADE. Last year’s winner David Cook also performed his new single Come Back To Me.
Next week’s theme sees the finalists performing songs from the year they were born.
