Simon Cowell has insisted that American Idol will ‘flourish’ whether or not he remains on the show.

The new season of AI kicks off on the 12th of January and Cowell has admitted that he may not return in 2010.

“Whether I’m on it or off it, I think the show will flourish without me. I genuinely do,” he told USA Today.
