Simon Cowell has stunned fans this week by announcing that he would be quitting as a judge on American Idol.
But don’t despair, his contract has him tied in for three more seasons, maybe by then we will be sick of the sight of him anyway!

When Simon Cowell says he’s quitting something he means. He’s
taking a back bench for awhile and is maybe considering being
a consultant for the show. At the moment Simon has a lot at risk.
Firstly, the extremely late release of Leona’s album will have
a knock on effect on this years British X factor show.
It could even have a knock on effect on music releases in and
around christmas 2007/the new year 2008.
In reality the British X factor winner is really Ray Quin who
has released one album of Swing and Jazz greats which has sold
well and is on the way to a second album being released in
the next few months.
Simon has a lot to lose and the stakes are high. If I was his
personal adviser I would insist that Leona’s X factor debut
album should be on the shelves now and not allow it to drag,
and have any negative effects on the music industry in Britain.
I would also refute ideas that anything American is best or that
the Americans are the only ones who can come up with the
goods. This is an insult to British writers and indeed any
other nationality of writer, musician and of course recording companies.

i must first of all admit that i am a hopless romantic and as a result of this i think Simon wants to quit because of Melinda Doolittle’s unfair loss, i have had this inescapble feeling that Simon is secretly in love with Melinda, in fact i am writing a book on it! love them both to bits!!
Brittney Spears to replace Paula. Little Richie to replace Randy. Sharon Osborne to replace Simon or Pamela Anderson’s ex to replace him, etc. Think of all the combinations of people who can give American Idol a facelift in the future when the ratings are down…
I hope Simon reads this. I have just heard one of the best voices I have heard in a long time. A chap called Colin onn ‘The Weakest Link’ sang ‘Mona Lisa’ for Anne Ronbinson and he was wonderful. He was from Liverpool. Don’t let him gat away pleeeeeeaaaaasse.
