Tori Kelly may have thought it was a wise move to bring 8 year old Hope into her American Idol audition, but we think that the little girl actually overshadowed her.

After Hope presented the judges with their own hand drawn portraits, 16 year old Tori sang ‘Gravity’ by John Mayer. After Tori sang, Simon said, “Out of the two, I’d put Hope through.” He even helped her add the words “My favorite judge” to her drawing of him.

Randy, Victoria and Kara gave Tori a yes though, so Tori won a place in Hollywood but perhaps once there, she’d be better leaving Hope at home.
