Any Dream Will Do: Lee Mead Goes AWOL

Lee Mead: Any Dream Will DoAny Dream Will Do contestant, Lee Mead, worried BBC producers after storming off after last Saturdays show.

Lee had a difficult week last week as he came down with a virus and a cough, however when Andrew lloyd Webber criticised him for trying too hard, Lee saw red and considered leaving the show altogether.

A source said: “Lee had been totally stressed, praying he’d get better.

“Andrew was really rude and that pushed Lee over the edge. He told one of the producers he was sick of the show.

“But he spoke to his family and decided to return.”

I really do want Lee to win, as I think he is amazing!!
I really hope he doesn’t consider leaving the show.
Its not really surprising he was cross on Saturday,
everyone knows he has been ill all week and it must have been
very stressful!! Whats more the judges were very hard
on him about his vocals and (even though I like Rob) did
not really mention the fact Rob was completely out of tune.
It seems the better they are, the more they expect from them,
whereas they should be judged on an even keel. I think
both Lee and Daniel were unfairly criticised this week.
    Lee Mead to win!! :-)

Shame Lee is throwing a weird diva act. Not very professional, if it comes to a singoff he will not be picked because of this. Seamus lost this way already.

I do think its fair to expect a lot from Lee because he IS the best actor and an obvious talent. This is not idols after all but a serious westend musical with a huge cast and crew. If you want to play with the big boys expect high standards and huge demands because that is what it takes to be a star on the westend.

This show is only to pick the one who will has to do all the work, the actual work is still to come!!!

    ahem ahem…

Just to add more nastiness :P

Not feeling very well? Don’t like critisism? Imagine doing 8 shows a WEEK…. shape up Lee, I’m betting on you and Keith for the finals!

I have to agree - if he can’t cope with this pressure, how will he cope on the West End?

I’m sure it’s just a blip, he’s obviously Joseph and everyone is entitled to off days.

I just hope he pulls himself together for the final!

    Lee definitely to win :)

  5. Herly says:

OH my! I can’t believe he considered walking!!!

    HE IS JOSEPH!

Do completely understand what everyone is saying about how stressful 8 shows a week will be, but I can imagine THIS is very stressful now. I still don’t get how its okay for some of the contestants to be ill or out of tune, and not others. It doesn’t matter who has the most experience, they should all be judged exactly the same. In my eyes Lee is obviously the best and his performance was still good I thought :-)

look Lee was just having a tough time and competing in this is completely different to already being the star and performing.
he will pull it off but didn’t expect him to have a diva fit but och well the stress and all that!!!

    Lee to win!

The people who run the show would be devasted if Lee left. I picked him out from the very first audition he did as the winner. He does not have the best voice, but he does have a really good one and more importantly he can act the words of a song and not just sing it. How sexy was he when singing to the girl on the floor with the Rod Stewart song. My daughter (who trained for 3 yrs in musical theatre at a top London college) and I are convinced that he is the best by far. He is the only one who I would actually buy a ticket to go and see in the part, despite having just seen Joseph show at a local theatre a couple of months ago. This must say something.

Remember dont always believe everything that you read in the press. None of this probably happened.

  10. lauren says:

yer i agree with selena, he may have walked off and suddenly the press say he wants to leave the show!

i think he wants the part to badly yo do that.

i also agree with what other people are saying about unfair judging. it means comparing someone like lewis to lee. and we all know who should win there!

    go lee!

    :)
