The Daily Star has reported that Big Brother wannabes get paid the miserly sum of £1 to spend the summer in the BB house.

£1 hardly seems worth it when BB bosses also make housemates sign a contract which makes clear that they will probably end up with at leats some degree of ‘emotional damage’.

A clause in the pre-show contract applicants have to sign states: “The Company shall not be liable to you…for any loss or damage or injury to you (including emotional damage).”

An insider on the hit Channel 4 show told The Daily Star: “It’s viewed as a privilege to be on Big Brother, regardless of whether you end up a nervous wreck or not!”
