Big Brother 2010: Housemates pass Dickesn task

For this week’s shopping task, Housemates have immersed themselves in the literary world of Charles Dickens.

The task consisted of six challenges spread over three days. For each challenge the Housemates pass, they earned £50 towards next week’s shopping budget.

Last night, during a Dickensian themed knees up Big Brother announced the results of the task. These were as follows:

Miss Havishams: John James and Rachel
Miss Havishams failed their challenge, which was to stay in Miss Havisham’s room for 24 hours.
Bill Sykes: Steve
Bill Sykes passed his challenge, which was to throw a bull’s eye every time he heard the ‘Bulls eye’ TV show theme music.
David Copperfield: Mario
David Copperfield passed his challenge, which was to perform an illusion live on last night’s eviction show. He did this with Davina.
Mr Bumble: Dave
At 10.45am on Thursday morning Mr Bumble prepared gruel without wearing his costume, therefore Mr Bumble failed his challenge.
Fagin’s Gang: Josie, JJ, Jo, Sam and Andrew
To pass their challenge, Fagin’s gang’s performance of Consider Yourself had to be viewed over 100,000 times on the Big Brother website. At 10pm last night it had been viewed 177,000 times. Therefore Fagin’s gang passed their challenge.
Scrooge: Corin
Scrooge was in charge of the house purse strings and had to ensure that she had an undisclosed number of coins remaining at the end of the task. Bill Sykes was asked to remove his dog, Bullseye’s, eye patch to reveal the number of coins that must remain. The number was 28, but since Scrooge incurred four fails, she has failed her task. These fails included Sam and Josie preparing food, Dave showering and Josie having a cigarette – all without asking for a coin.

With three passes housemates have been rewarded with £150 for next week’s shopping budget. However, as the Artful Dodger and Nancy successfully stole five props for the Tree of Temptation, the total has been doubled and Housemates will receive £300.
