Big Brother 2011: Brian Dowling and Emma Willis confirmed as presenters for BB and Celebrity Big Brother!
Brian Dowling and Emma Willis have been confirmed as the new hosts of Big Brother 2011.
The Daily Star confirmed the news, after Brian’s new role was leaked on Twitter earlier today by former BB housemate Nasty Nick Bateman.
Dowling, 33, won the second series of the reality TV show, as well as last year’s Ultimate Big Brother run and previously admitted that he would love to front the new series when it launched on Channel 5.
Speaking about his new job, Brian raved:
“I am so excited about this opportunity to host one of the most talked about shows on TV.”
Emma Willis will present the new take on Big Brother’s Little Brother, titled ‘Big Brother’s Bit On The Side’. The mum of one literally just announced her second pregnancy a few days ago and will be due to give birth in December, so will be heavily pregnant during the non celebrity series which kicks off this autumn.
She gushed:
“‘I’m so happy that Big Brother is back on our screens! I’m such a massive fan of the show so I’m over the moon that I’ve been asked to be a part of it. I can’t wait to get stuck in!”
Jeff Ford, Channel 5 Director of Programmes comments: “We are delighted to announce Brian Dowling and Emma Willis as the new presenters of Big Brother 2011. As The Ultimate Big Brother Housemate, Brian is the perfect man to be at the helm of Big Brother’s new incarnation. Emma meanwhile is a consummate professional – as well as being a self confessed superfan. Their combined expertise and first-hand experience of the show will bring an extra dimension to Big Brother when it returns this summer.”
Gavin Henderson, Creative Director for Big Brother at Endemol UK, comments: “Brian is a Big Brother superfan with huge personality and talent. Who better to bring the ultimate reality show back to our screens than the nation’s ultimate housemate.”
Just last month Dowling denied on Twitter that he had been chosen as the new presenter, though he was probably just trying to build suspense surrounding the show.
Willis has previously admitted that she would love a presenting role on the series, having fallen in love with her job when she worked on BBLB last year.
What do you think of Channel 5′s choice? Are you looking forward to watching Brian and Emma when Celebrity Big brother returns next month?
